'I'm extremely upset'
Actress and criket host Mandira Bedi tells CT what's killing her
The Eyjafjalljokull Volcano ashes in Iceland have turned many hopes into ashes, including Mandira Bedi's . the actress and cricket host is 'stranded' (if being at home can be termed 'stranded') in India and could not make it to the UK to resume her hosting there. She has even lost the contract.
It is not the loss of contract, however, that Mandy is upset about. It's extremely upset. I am feeling very helpless. I am feeling as if I have lost one of the best things in my life," She says.
It was a bad birthday gift, confesses Mandira, "I was on a 15-day break in such a way that I could bring in my birth day (April 15) with my family and then head for the UK. Everything was working as planned. I had a blast on my birthday; we partied till 5 am, after which I headed for the airport where I was told that all flights have been canceled due to the Volcano ashes. I waited for a few hours before going back home, hoping that I would fly the next day. I kept calling up airlines officials, but all my hopes turned to ashes.I feel lousy. I miss the studios so much and people there are missing me too -- they have been telling me so."
First, she was dropped as a host in India and now she has lost her hosting contract in the UK too. "When I didn't get to host season 3 here, I got a better offer. But who knows, my not being able to make it to the UK could be a blessing in disguise. Had I been stranded there, it would have been worse."
