WATCH YOUR DIET THIS SUMMER

Anatomy Of Ailments
Summer is the time when the body is susceptible
to a number of diseases. But with a little care and
precaution these ailments can be easily avoided
Hair
Heat bolls are a summer occurrence. You need to wash hair on alternate days with a medicated shampoo. Children need to have regular hair cuts and you can treat the bolls with an antiseptic.

Head
Heat stroke, and dehydration result in headache and changes in sensorium. When the temperature goes up, the sweating mechanism comes into play. But when the temperature continues to rise, sweating fails, the core body temperature rises, and this causes a heat stroke. Immediate rehydration, and ice packs on the femoral arteries and armpits will help. Also sponge the person under a fan

Eye
Allergic Conjunctivitis or spring catarrh is caused by an increase in temperature and dust. Problems like dryness in the eye, itching, discharge and redness are usually side-effects of the excessive heat.Keep washing your dyes at regular intervals

Nose
Nasal secretion can dry up sooner, Avoid picking your nose as it can lead to trauma and bleeding. Steam inhalation and saline nose drops can help in hydrating the area

IPL CRICKET 2010 - Deccan Chargers KKR

IPL CRICKET 2010
Deccan Chargers Vs Kolkata Knight Riders

GANGSTER TO THE FORE
Skipper Sourav's 88 Helps Kolkata Side down
Deccan Chargers By 24 runs

Kolkata:The nor'wester didn't hit Eden Gardens, yet Deccan Chargers were blown away to pieces by the fury of one man hell-bent on redeeming pride after three weeks of mediocrity and humiliation.
Thursday evening at one of cricket's most romantic theatres was all about Sourav Ganguly's Dadagiri. Ganguly (54 off 88, 9x4, 5x6) single-handedly guided Kolkata Knight Riders to a hitherto unachieved total of 181/6 at Eden and then marshaled his resouces dffectively to restrict the Chargers to 157/5.
Just twice during their pursuit of a stiff target did Deccan threaten to make a match of it. In the very first over, which went for 14, as Ganguly tried to surprise the opposition by throwing in unknown office Mohnish Parmar. And then when Herschelle Gibbs (50 off 45 balls) and Andrew Symonds got together in a 4th -wicket stand scoring at 8 and more consistently.
Once Gibbs holed out to Shane Bond, though, it left Symonds with too much to do.
All the bowlers did a good job. with the pacy Bond and the miserly Murali Karthik standing out. They would have got a kick in the back side from their captain had they not manged to defend 181.
Ganguly had made a point about the toss being critical after losing to Delhi Daredevil at the Kotla, prompting Shah Rukh Khan to comment that there was no point in making excuses.
The captain's prayers were answered on Thursday and there wasn't going to be a second thought about batting first.
Aware that his batting so far in the tournament had been plain ordinary. the left-hander meant business right from the word go. Two boundaries off Kemar Roach's first over one flicked to fine leg and the other caressed between point and cover was a message his franchisee owner must have loved to receive.
The tight ones and twos were a strict no-no, but the big shots flowed from Ganguly's blade as and when he wished.

Kareena Kapoor - GENEROUS

Gal with
a big
heart!

It's common practice for stars to ferry their friends and family to and fro from the studios. But on most occasions, the star uses the smallest, most nondescript car from his fleet for this chore. Except Kareena Kapoor!

The girl has bought herself a swanky cdar, and she encourages her friends to take the vehicle for a spin or to get dropped home because she truly believes that like her, her near and dear ones should experience the ultimate luxury. Must say Bebo has a big heart.... and a bigger sense of ,luxury than most of the other B-town superstars, who believe in luxury for themselves, but are often stingy when it comes to those around them.

IPL CRICKET 2010
Delhi DareDevil Vs Rajasthan Royals

Daredevils rout Rajasthan

New Delhi: After Delhi Daredevils' Paul Collingwood was dismissed at the Kotla on Wednesday against Rajasthan Royals, Dinesh Karthik was all set to cross into the field and join captain Gautam Gambhir in the middle. But Gambhir signalled for Kedar Jadhav to come in and bat at No.5. The move might well have spurred Karthik on -- the wicketkeeper batsman played a stellar knock to take Daredevils to a very healthy 188 for six which proved too much for the Royals.

Karthik's 69 off just 38 balls (6x4, 4x6) gave a late impetus to the hosts and a likely total of 160-165 actually became 188. Royals reeded Yusuf Pathan to fire big to overhaul this score. Yuisuf failed, and so did the Royals, who slumped to 121 all out to lose by a whopping 67 runs. Yusuf and Naman Ojha did play some lusty shots but that wasn't enough.

Chennai super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

BACK ON VIJAYPATH
TN Batsman Hits 39-Ball 78 As CSK End Losing Streal with 5-Wicket Win Over RCB

Chennai:The India brigade of chennai super Kings has been under fire for a week now. It's those same set of boys who gave coach  Stephen Fleming a reason to smile on the ever of his birthday.
On a balmy Wednesday evening at the chepauk, CSK almost made a mess of it from a winning position before Suresh Raina (44 no) held his nerve to snatch a five-wicket win against Royal Challengers Banglore which kept the Men in Yello alive in IPL 3.
If Raina was the man who did it in the end, it was M. Vijay (78 off 39 balls) who had set it up with some supreme hitting. Vijay, who has faced a lot of flak, looked beautifully balanced at the crease and timed the ball to perfection to bring the asking rate down at a fast clip. Matthew Hayden (12) threw it away after the two had put on 61 runs for the first wicket, but Vijay looked merciless. The bowlers just didn't know how to keep him quiet and just when it seemed that he would do it on his own, Vijay committed hara-kiri.
The ever dependable Dhone, too, struggled, as RCB started clawing back into the game with some tight bowling from Anil Kumble and Jacques Kallis. When Dhoni,Albie Morkel and S. Badrinath got out in quick succession, the Chepauk crowd was stunned into silence n apprehension of another heart breaker.
But Raina came up, with a couple of crucial boundaries in the 19th over to seal the deal. Earlier, it seemed to be running away from CSK as Kallis and Virat Kohli and settled in beautifully, but Shadab Jakati (2-17) brought them back into the game. The left-arm spinner, a favourite of Dhone, kept altering the length, firing a few into the blockhole and was rewarded with the wickets of Robin Uthappa and Kohli.
The spinner, in fact, managed to carve out a maiden over, a rarity in T20 cricket. As Kohli and Jacques Kallis looked to cut lose, Jakati removed the Delhi boy in the first ball of the 17th over as he tried for a heave off a full-toss. Kallis, tried to hit out, but got the ball straight back to the bowler, and got run out in the process.
Even Kevin Pietersen and Cameron White couldn't manage a run off that over, as Jakati turned the tempo of the game to a certain degree.
With Murali and Jakati bowling, there weren't too many bad balls on offer, something that the CSK pacemen Thilan Thushara, Manpreet Gony and Albie Morkel provided in abundance. But on Wednesday it didn't prove too costly.

Trisha - PASSION SPEAK

"Akshay's been a
good teacher'
Sizzling Trisha speaks about her B-town break, her three-film contract with Akshay kumar and her passion for films

A little birdie told us that Trisha has generously doled out innumerable dates for her B-town debut. So, we just got curious and asked her if it was true. But the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa girl says, "I spared 120 days for the film, since Prihadarshan works very fast in comparison to other bollywood filmmakers. He has wrapped up most of the shooting. We only have  a 15-day schedule left."
And she reserves special praise for co-star Akshay Kumar. "Akshay's known to have great comic timing, I think even my comic timing is good as I have done several Tamil and Telugu comedy flicks. Besides comedy, the film has its share of emotional moments too. Working with Akshy has been a pleasant experience, he has been a good teacher. I have learnt a lot from him, " she confesses. Is her three-film contract with the superstar still on? "Of course. I have to do another film for Akshay's production house, either with him or some other actor," she discloses.
Now that she is 26, does she think, she should have kick-started her B-town innings, a bit earlier? "I don't think so. It doesn't matter too much when you make your debut in Bollywood. What matters is the kind of project you make your debutin. I had received a couple of Hindi film offers in the past, but they didn't seem exceting. So, when my mentor Priyadarshan offered me this meaty role, I just grabbed it, " she says.
Trisha's also signed Kamal's next film, simply after hearing the story line over the phone. "The plot sounded interesting. Working with Kamal sir is a great honour. So, it's like a double bonanza for me, " she confesses.
Does she think being a multi-lingual actress is an advantage? "Of course it is. I can choose the best from the varied offers I keep getting. I can do films in most southern languages and they allow me to present myself better. It works well for me, " she points out.
And for the time being, it's only work, work and more work for the pretty actress. so much so that for the first time in years, Trisha's not taking a summer vacation either! Way to go girl!
