Deepika PAdukone - NO TIME FOR LOVE

Saturday, April 24, 2010

DEE'S A
     BUSY BEE

You could make cracks at her, chase her with controversy or swamp her with compliments -- it doesn't matter. Deepika Padukone has no time to turn back and respond. She's so caught up in a  whirl wind of activities -- from cricket matches and movie promotions to working on three movies back to-back -- that trial things like men, masti and firing back at the media seems like wasted time and effort. In fact, the only place to catch her is on the movie sets. When her family and close friends miss her too much, they simply drop by at the shooting location for a quick cup of chai with the gal such a starry life this one is, right? With no time for love, too. Or, so we think...

'UNIVERSAL' APPEAL! Madhavan and Kamal

'Kamal first, family later
...says actor Madhavan, who has recovered from a bout of malaria

All those Bollywood biggies planning to visit Colombo this summer for an international Bollywood awards event better be warned. Madhavan says the mosquitoes in Colombo are very dangerous. If something unexpected like an offer to team up with his all time favourite actor Kamal Haasan had not come up, Madhavan would have gone on a long sabbatical after completing Tanu Weds Manu with Kangna Ranaut which has just goneinto its last long schedule in Kapurthala.
Madhavan, who has just recovered from a bout of malaria, says,"I was just getting ready to take a long holiday to spend time with my parents, wife and son and to work on my physique when this offer with Kamal sir came along. I've now postponed my holiday."
Kamal Haasan and Madhavan share a very close friendship. Maddy was supposed to do Kamal's daughter Shruti's launch film in Tamil. But she preferred to make her debut in Hindi with Imran Khan. Says the hero, "The last time Kamal sir and i worked together was in Anbe Sivam and it was a really special project. we waited for something really special before teaming up again."
The Tamil spectacle will be shot in Monte Carlo at one stretch. It also stars Trisha, who makes her Hindi debut with Akshay Kumar in Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetha. It is hoped that once Trisha is seen by Hindi moviegoers om Priyadarshan's film, there would be a captive audience to watch her againin Hindi.
Madhavan is getting ready to shoot with Kamal Haasan right after he finishes Tanu Weds Manu. The film suffered a setback when the leading lady Kangna injured herself soon after Maddy contracted malaria.
Prompted by the unscheduled holiday, the star took off for a holiday in Kuala Lampur, says he, "On the way back, I stopped in Colombo where I was down with malaria; it just drained all energy out of me. But the one good thing that came of it was that I got pampered by my family! That's when I decided that I needed to spend time at home. But before I could implement my sabbatical, the offer for the film with Kamal sir came. So, Kamal sir first, family later."

Health Issue - A low sexual desire for many young women

Antidepressants, pills cut desire in women

New York: Many young women are reporting that they have a low sexual desire, with a new research blaming antidepressants and birth control pills for the problem.

Many young women have distress piled on top of the guilt about their lagging sex lives, according to a study by the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
And a 2008 research in Obstetrics and Gynecology magazine of 31,000 women age 18 and above found that in the 18 to 44 age group, one in 10 reported low libido, or hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD)
While dysfunctional relationships, stress and depression are thought to contribute to decreased sex drive, it's often antidepressants or birth control pills that are the culprits.
"I think a lot of women are distressed out there and feel bad and think something is wrong with them," the New York Daily News quoted Dr Carolyn Nemec, woman's health specialist in the department of family medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, as as telling ABC News.com "The younger patients hear so much about menopause and a lot of these women -- aged 18 to 30 -- don't feel they have a voice. We need to focus on them, " Nemec added.
A 2008 study from the journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology had found that nearly half of all women suffer from one sexual disorder or another.

Health Issue - Losing About 6kg...

Lose just 6kg to give your immune system a boost

Washington: Losing about 6kg of excess flab may help reverse the disturbed immune system of obese people, particularly those with Type 2 diabetes, Australian scientists have claimed.

The immune system is made up of many kinds of cells that protect the body from germs, viruses and other invaders. These cells need to co-exist in a certain balance for good health to be maintained. Many factors, including diet and excess body fat, can tip this balance, creating "pro-inflammatory" immune cells that can harm, rather than protect, our bodies. But the study conducted at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney found that shedding about 6kg of excess weight could reverse damaging changes in the immune cells of obese people.

According to the scientists excess body fat, particularly abdominal fat, triggers the production of "pro-inflammatory" immune cells, which circulate in the blood and promote inflammation in our bodies. Such chronic inflammation has been linked with coronary artery disease and other health problems.

Child Care Expert Said...........

Babies left to cry at risk of brain damage later in life

London: Distressed babies who are left to cry are at greater risk of developing problems later in life, a child care expert said. Long periods of crying can damage developing brains, leading to learning difficulties Leach, author of the book "Your Baby And Child: From Birth To Age Five",published in 1977. "It is not an opinion but a fact that it's potentially damaging to leave babies to cry," she said.

Leach's theory is contrary to popular child-rearing beliefs that a baby should be allowed to cry for up to 20 minutes. "A baby who is left crying for long enough will eventually stop, but because he is exhausted and has despaired of getting help," she said.

She added that continued crying led to the increased production of the "stress hormone" cortisol. Long periods of crying produced so much cortisol that it could damage a baby's brain. "That doesn't mean that a baby should never cry, or that parents shouyld worry when she does. It's not the crying that is bad for babies -- but crying that gets no response,Leach said.

First Time Sucess for FaceTrnaplant

First Complete face transplant performed
A Team OF 30 doctors In Spain Conducts 22-Hour-Long Surgery To Give Patient His Looks Back

Madrid: A Spanish hospital said it has performed the world's first compete face transplant in March on a man who could not swallow, breath or talk normally following an accident five years ago.

Ehile 11 other face transplants have been carried out around the world previously, Barcelona's Valld'Hebron hospital said on Thursday that they invloved only part of the patient's face.
During the 22-hour-long operation, the unidentified young man received new facial muscles, skin, nose, lips, jaw, teeth, palate and cheekbones, the leade of the medical team that carried out the procedure, Joan Pere Barret. told a news conference.
A team of 30 experts carried out the transplant on March 20 and care was taken to ensure that the patient's new face was created in the lieness of the face he had before the unspecified accident and did not resemble that of the anonymous donor.
"Relatives say that he looks in some areas like he did before the accident, but he doesn't look like the donor at all, he's changed completely," said Barret.
"The patient has scars on his forehead and neck, but in the future they will be fully concealed," he added. a week after the operation, the atient asked to look at himself in the mirror and was satisfied with what he saw, said Barret. "He saw himself in the mirror when he wanted to and when psychologists said that he was ready. It was a week after the operation and he reacted well. he was calm and satisfied," he said.
The first successful face transplant was performed in France in 2005 on Isabelle Dinoire, a 38-year-old woman who had been mauled by her dog.Since then face transplants have been carried out in China, the United States and Spain, which carried out  its first such operation in august 2009. Hospitals in Spain have performed two partial face transplants, in Valencia and Seville. Spain's public health care systems ranked the seventh best in the world by the World Health Organisation.
The patient in Spain underwent psychiatric tests before the operation to determine if he would be able to confrnt haveing a tatally new face, the hopital said. He is expected to remain hospitalized for two months.
The man, who is in his thirties, suffered severe disfigurement and lost his nose, jaw, and other parts of his face when he accidentally shot himself in 2005, reported the Times.

HOW IS A CIGAR MANUFACTURED?

CIGARS
Cigar is made up of three components which form the wrapper
(capa), a binder leaf (capote) and filler (tripa) which is made
from different varieties of tobacco leaves. The best places for
one to look for cigar manufacturing is Cuba where one would find
expert makers of the product using both manual and machine ways
to create them. Cigar as such is made up of 3 parts, the head,
body and legs where the head needs to be cut before smoking. This
fun stuff for many people needs to be preheated before using it
for smoking. Due to its bulkiness, it does not catch fire easily.
One good thing about cigar is that it does not affect lungs
unlike cigarettes. Smoking cigar is an art and requires gentle
ways to do so. The brand Cohiba is considered to be one of the top quality brands of cigars. As a saying goes in Cuba that one does not die of smoking cohiba, but dies out of envying it.
