     is a good
        companion'

Mexican beauty Barbara Mori just can't stop singing praises about her co-star Hrithik Roshan and his dare devilry. "Hrithik is so good at action, that I learnt a lot from him. The action director kept dissuading me from doing my stunts because they were dangerous, But I went to Hrithik and told him I can do it. Hrithik convinced the action director to let me do my own action stunts, " says she.
"We had lot of fun. Working with Hrithik was an amazing experience because he is a very good companion and now, a very good friend. As co-stars, Hrithik and I got along really well and he gave me the confidence to do a few scenes that I was initially scared of, like the underwater swimming scene, " gushes the pretty actress.

THRILLERS '10

A TOUGH TEST FOR SANGAKKARA

STRENGTH: If all key players regain fitness, kings XI can fancy their chances. They will also look to Shaun Marsh to give the side a flying start. with Ravi Bopara, Kumar Sangakkara, Yuvraj Singh, Mahela Jayawardene to follow, the batting looks solid. The bowling too has variety with left-arm-seamer Yusuf Abdulla sharing the new ball with Brett Lee. Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, James Hopes, Piyush Chawla and Ramesh Powar are in the arsenal too.

WEAKNESS: It would be interesting to see how the team responds in crunch ties. Also, despite having quality batsmen, kings XI seem to rely too much on Yuvraj singh, Their success will depend on how fit Yuvfay is after his wrist injury . Brett Lee's fitness is also a concern.

OPPORTUNITIES: Playing at home before a vociferous crowd is bound to pump up the side. The Punjab players in the team know the conditions at PCA stadium, which are different to other venues, really well. so they will be keen to win most home games.

THREATS: The expectation levels will be sky high and it would be interesting to see how the players cope. Also, a lot will depend on the domestic cricketers and how the new skipper Kumar Sangakkara handles them.

THRILLER '10

ROACH ADDS TEETH TO CHARGERS

STRENGTHS: Deccan Chargers have always boasted of a strong batting line-up, but the acquisition of pacer Kemar Roach, lends them a more balanced look. With the likes of Adam Gilchrist, Gibbs, Symonds, Rohit Sharma, VVS Laxman and Venugopal Rao, it's a virtual batting powerhouse. Roach will take over the wrecker-in-chief duties from Fidel Edwards. Ryan Harris has been consistent down Under.

WEAKNESS: The defending champions have the tendency to get carried away: win or lose. The first edition probably happened too fast for comfort but having identified at the very beginning that the first six overs are very crucial in T20, they hardly got anything right. To their credit, though, they got most all things right in south Africa. The moot point is whether their varied attack can contain reval batsmen on batting-friendly pitches. gilchrist will also have some weary legs to hide in the outfield.

OPPORTUNITIES: This could well be the chance for Chargers to show that they ae a force to reckon with in all conditions. They are yet to win a match at Hyderabad. But that will not happen this edition as their home matches have been distributed between Mumbai, Cuttack and Nagpur.

THREATS: Complacency. They have transformed from being whipping boys to champions. How well the young turks have learned their lessons and how well Gilchrist marshals his resources remains to be seen.

2008: Finished 8th; 2009: Champions

IPL CRICKET MATCH 2010 ROYAL CHALLENGER

WILL THE ROYALS RULE

AT HOME AGAIN ?

STRENGTHS: The form of Yousuf Pathan will be a great boost to the side. The all rounder is now in the middle of a purple patch with a sterling 210 in the Duleep Trophy final and carried his form into the ODIs against South Africa. Aussie speedster Shaun Tait is in good rhythm too. But the real plus for them is the captaincy of the tactical master Shane Warne.

WEAKNESSES: The absence of in-form all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been banned from the league for a year, will hit the side hard. Shane Warne will also have to cope without Shance Watson for a large part of the tournament as the all-rounder will be on international duty in New Zealand.

OPPORTUNITIES: Offie Johan Botha and Proteas pacer Morne Morkel are fresh from their tour to India, so adjusting to conditions won't be an issue for the duo. Batsman Abhishek Jhunhjunwala, who had a good stint in the Indian Cricket League, will be the man to  watch out for in season Three.

THREATS: Royals will play four of their 'home matches' in Ahmedabad and that will mean to home advantage for the shane Warne-led side. The squad has no Indian player of repute to boast of apart from Yusuf Pathan. Paceman Munaf Patel, who is out of the national side now for quite some time, needs to get his confidence back.

2008: Champions; 2009: Finished 5th.

IPL CRICKET MATCH 2010 THRILLERS 10

A ROYAL CHALLENGE FOR

KUMBLE AND CO.

STRENGTHS: In season 1, their biggest problem was lack of home-grown talent but with the rise of young stars such as Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey with the bat and say Abhimanyu Mithun and R Vinay Kumar with the ball, that is no longer expected to be an issue. With the four foreigners rule in force, it is local talent that can make the difference. RCB score big there.

WEAKNESSES: What can go against them is the fact that the IPL is back in India. RCB wouldn't have minded another year at least in South Africa. For it was in South Africa that their bowling looked to have sting and their leading batsmen like Dravid and Kallis didn't have to adjust their games too much.

OPPORTUNITIES: Being more or less covered in terms of batting and pace bowling, both locally and as far as the foreigners go. An Indian spin partner for skipper Anil Kumble would have served to strengthen the team further.

THREATS: The pressure of expectation for sure. When Anil Kumble took over from Kevin Pictersen, the benchmark was as low as it could be. Now things are different and fans and team owner Vijay Mallya, will be expecting them to go all the way.

2008: 7th; 2009: Runners-up.

IPL CRICKET MATCH 2010 DADAGIRI?

S IT FINALLY TIME

FOR DADAGIRI ?

When shah Rukh Khan bought the Kolkata franchise of the IPL and forged a team with Sourav Ganguly, fans of the country's two most lovable icons thanked 'Rab' for the making of this 'jodi' They saw the coming together of Bollywood's Baazigar and Kolkata's Prince Charming as a win-win combo. The marketing machinery went into overdrive to promote this new partnership and Kolkata knight Riders emerged as the "most visible" brand of IPL.
Finishing sixth among eight teams was not exactly  the kind of result that measured up to the hype surrounding KKR, but a few stirring victories indicated that with a little more push and a small dose of luck, Sourav's Knights had it in them to go all the way in Season Two. However, when push came to shove, and the tournament was moved out of  India last year, John Buchanan, the erstwhile KKR coach, instead of building on the positives of 2008, chose to ram his "multiple-captain" theory down the throats of his bewildered Knights, who were 'slaughtered' mercilessly in South Africa.
In a span of six weeks, KKR went from being the biggest brand in IPL to the biggest joke in world cricket. With every loss, KKR fans grew more and more restive and as their venom spilled into cyberspace, it it became pretty evident that KKR would finish at the bottom of the heap. They did.
One could write a book on KKR's failings, for it is a case study in how not to run a team, but it would suffice to say that their management not only displayed a clear lack of aptitude on recruitment and selection issues, but also a myopic vision, for a team that aspires to be the best.
The good thing about reality is that when it bites, you feel the pain and it stirs you into action. KKR's disastrous second attempt at IPL glory finally shook the team management out of their self-imposed stupor and they responded positively by bidding Buchanan bye -bye reaffirming their faith in Sourav, who must now steer the team's fortunes along with new coach Dav Whatmore.
The early signs look good. Loads of deadwood, accumulated in the course of the past two years, have been let go and quality recruitments like Shane Bond, Rohan Gavaskar, Owais Shah and Manoj Tiwary have been made. In keeping with Sourav'[s line of thinking, the pool of homegrown talent has been enhanced with the induction of a youngsters like Harshad Khadiwale, Chirag Pathak and Varun Aaron. Whatmore, who gave up his NCA job to take the KKR hotseat, is excited to be returning to competitive coaching, "This means there will be more competition for places in the playing XI, " he said.
the batting department certainly looks well-stacked. It augurs well for KKr because they now have both quality and depth in their ranks to tide over the initial period when they will mess their star foreigners like Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle and David Hussey.
the best thing about KKR is the quality of firepower they have in their ranks, both in batting as well as the bowling departments. The likes of Gayle, Ganguly, McCullum, Hussey,Angelo Mathews and Twary are all capable of turning the heat on rival attacks, while Bond, Ishant, Ashok Dinda and Ajantha Mendis are all wicket-taking bowlers. "I know it's a batsman's game, but I still feel that bowlers have an equally big role to play in T20, " Whatmore said.
however, there are a couple of areas that need working on. The knights are not the best movers and shakers on the field and bowling at the death has been a problem. "We need to be sharper in the field and take out catches, " Whatmore agrees, adding that he intends to keep pushing his wards in this area.
So, should KKR fans start dreaming again? "Of course ! We want to win it badly. A lot of things have to fall in place, so we are going to focus on one thing at a time. Right now, we want to get off to a winning start, " he added.

IPL CRICKET MATCH 2010 MUMBAI INDIANS

MUMBAI
INDIANS
MUMBAI INDIANS' TIME TO ROCK?

STRENGTHS: The biggest strength of this team lies in the fact that Sachin Tendulkar, at 36, is in the form of his life. His opening partnership with Sanath Jayasuriya is scary. The third major weapon in this lineup is new recruit Kieron Pollard. Abhishek Nayar is a good finisher, Zaheer, Malinga and Harbhajan are never easy to get away. and there's Bravo's magic!

WEAKNESESS: Jayasuriya is ageing. The middle order has always been a worry. In the past, Nayar has been left with too much to do. The domestic players haven't been up to the mark. The fielding, despite Rhodes' presence, has failed to lift itself, especially at the death.

OPPORTUNITIES: MI have failed to do justice to their huge billing, so the players must be hungry, Tendulkar always sets targets for himself, and his aim for this season must surely be to add the IPL trophy to his cabinet! Harbhajan hasn't had the best of IPL experiences and must be looking to make amends.

THREATS: The sky high expectation of fans. a team that has Tendulkar is expected to win everything. Big stars and locals have failed to gel. Pollard's reputation as the costliest buy may put pressure on him too.

2008: FINISHED 5TH; 2009: FINISHED 7th.

IPL CRICKET MATCH 2010

Knight

Riders
ALL-ROUNDERS COULD GIVE DADA MANY GOOD KNIGHTS

STRENGTHS: In T20, all rounders have a big role and the knight Riders' squad is full of cricketers who may not be all rounders, but can be quite handy with the ball, Apart from Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Angelo Matthews and Ajit Agarkar, the Knights have Chris Gayle, Sourav Ganguly, David Hussey and Brad Hodge who can slip in a few useful overs.

WEAKNESS: Fielding and bowling at the death are two major areas of concern. the Knights are by no means the fittest of the lot and coach Dav Whatmore has a job on his hands in getting his lads to shape up. Containment is not really the strong point of Ishant sharma, Shance Bond and Ashok Dinda. Could struggle in the slog.

OPPORTUNITY: With the likes of Gayle, Brewndon McCullum, Brad Hodge, Ganguly and Manoj Tiwary at the top of the order, the Knights are capable of scoring at great pace. McCullum has shown his capabilities in the IPL opener in 2008 and Gayle proved his class in the inaugural T20 World Cup, by scoring the first T20 ton.

THREATS: MC Cullum won't be available till April and Gayle is inconsistency. Ishant has to find his rhythm and accusracy auickly and look to remain injury-free.

2008: FINISHED 6th; 2009: FINISHED 8th.
