Make a Lovable List

Think positive thoughts about yourself and your life changes tremendously. Make a list of things you like about yourself. Make sure each item is positive. don't say things like, "sometimes I feel good about myself."Say, "I like myself." If you have trouble getting started, ask a friend , parent or sibling to help you. Say, "What are the things you like about me ?"

  • I am lovable and valuable.
  • I am intelligent and capable.
  • I am Good Person.
  • I am my own best friend.
  • People like me.
  • I am in charge of my life.
  • I have many strengths and talents.
  • I'm happy with the way I handle myself around others.
Write down your favorite subjects , sports , thing to do , when you did something you were particularly proud of (and remember how it felt !). Keep your list in place where you can see it a lot , at home on the wall above your desk , or in a drawer near your bed. If you walk up in the morning feeling bad, read your list untill you feel GOOD.

Let's Move

THE CALL TO ACT NOW

Before the night fall and blinds us
With her invisible hands
Before she spreads darkness
And engulfs the last speck of light
Let's move on and partake in the banquet.

Before the deceptive face of selfishness
Smiles with his grim face
And overshadows the illuminating gleam of joy
Let's move on radiate love.

Before the world stinks of hatred
And sink in violence undeterred
Blurring human hearts and minds
Let's move on and sprinkle peace.

Before man and women or blinded by
Bogus expectations and avarice
That can kill a thousand and many more
Let's move on and speak boldly.

Before it is too late to act
Won't you act ? Can't we act.

HAIR CARE

How to treat dandruff

1. Eat right You might be told to do that for many reasons, but  really,it is the basic prerequisite overall good health. Have a lot of zinc, Omega -3 fatty acids, E and B vitamins, and avoid yeast and
sugar .

2.  Oiling your hair is the next basic step to keep your hair healthy. Your grandmother was right-regular oil massage leads to healthy, dandruff-free hair. Leave the oil in for a while;don't wash it off   immediately.

3.  Excessive use of hairstyling  products like hairspray, mousse and gels might make the scalp dry, causing  flaking and itching.

4.   Use an anti-dandruff shampoo, but make sure the 'active ingredients' do not cause allergy.

5.   Washing your hair with mildly acidic products like lemon juice or tea leaves might also help, but consult a beautician or your doctor before you use these home remedies.

OILING HAIR

Your grandmother may have told you that coconut oil is the secret behind her thick, dark and flowing tresses. We, However, know how impractical it is to oil and wash hair on a daily basis. Also, anything done in except can do more harm than good. "Oiling hair once in a fortnight is more than enough," Says celebrity stylist Coleen Khan." One of the most common mistakes is that people oil the strands of hair rather than they roots. It's the scalp that must be oiled. Also, you don't need to heat the oil on overnight. Two hours between oiling and washing the hair is more than enough." She explains. Another very important point, according to celebrity stylist Savio Pereira is that it is not enough to just apply the oil. Massaging the oil in to the scalp is more important."When you massage, you stimulate the blood vessels, and this is a whole point of an oil massage as it promotes healthy and strong hair growth," He says. Coleen adds that it is perfectly fine to massage the scalp without oiling, too."Just work your finger tips on your scalp gently for a few minutes before you wash your hair and see the wonders," She recommends.

For Long-Term Benefits

How Sugar Can Enhance Your Prospects

If you're about to try to negotiate a pay rise, it might be a good idea to have a sugary drink beforehand. It helps you concentrate on long-term rewards, reason your case for longer and more aggressively, according to a study published recently in Psychological Science.

Researchers at the University of South Dakota asked 65 students to answer a series of questions in which they had to choose between getting a smaller sum of money to morrow or a large sum in the future. The participants responded to half the questions on an empty stomach and the other half after consuming a sweetened drink. Within 10 minutes of drinking a sugary soda, participants interest in a larger, future reward was higher, said Xiao-Tian Wang, one of the psychological scientists who led the study. "It's like when you eat or if your blood sugars are high, you can probably wait for longer to eat.The cognitive impact on your mind is that you are able to wait longer to get a bigger reward, "Wang said.

Having a higher blood sugar level made participants less impulsive. "On the other hand, having a diet drink low on calories made people more impulsive and go for the immediate, smaller reward," Wang said.

Fruits are the Best Food

Ideal Snack Ideas

Fruits are the best foods to snack on as they are fresh and full of vitamins and minerals. They are best eaten in the natural  state without much cutting, cooking and therefore without much nutrient loss. Beside filling your stomach and giving you energy, fruits give you a quick dose of vitamin, mineral, some fluid and some fibre.

In terms of calories, fruits have very low calorific content compared to other foods. an average size apple, pear, guava, orange gives you 50 to 60 calories whereas one medium samosa or vada contains as much as 150 to 200 calories.

Fruits are made up of two sugars-glucose and fructose, both of which are monosaccharides-which are sugars that are digested in a single step and enter the blood stream easily as energy. Hence, fruits are the best choice for quick energy and refreshment. Regular sugar and chocolate on the other hand are made of a sugar called sucrose, which is a disaccharide, and requires two steps of digestion and lot more time to provide the required energy.

Ideally, have a fruit every day at about 11 am or 12 noon and at 6 or 7 pm when you return from work. At 4 pm you may have a cup of coffee or tea made with skimmed milk, along with a couple of arrowroot biscuits, crackers or two slices of whole wheat bread.

You could also have milk, curd, lassi or buttermilk.Milk contains a natural sugar called lactose, but it also contains fluids and is both filling and refreshing. If you wake up early for work or to study, have hot milk, coffee or tea and a banana to give you a quick energy boost. A biscuit or toast may be added.
