Shazahn Padamsee - STUNNER

She isn't Kanimozhi

In the recently-released Aval Peyar Tamilarasi, the character name of the protagonist was Tamilarasi. And in Saroja, Vega was christened Saroja. Similarly, in Chandramukhi, the alter ego of Ganga was called Chandramukhi. Even in Anjali, Baby Shamili, who played the lead in the film, was called Anjali.
Now, it's but natural that we assume Shazahn Padamsee, who plays the female lead in Kanimozhi opposite Jai, be called so in the film. But no! The director of the film, Sripathy Rangasamy, tells us Shazahn's name in Kanimozhi is not Kanimozhi.
Though he refuses to divulge details on Shazahn's charcter or her name in the movie, he just tells us, "She plays a college girl in the film, which is a love story based on a philosophy." Well, we wonder what's so secretive in a love story.

News: Nokia Developing the Cycling Moile Chargers

One for road: Now, pedal to power your mobile

Helsinki: Dutch cyclists chatting on the mobile phones are an ubiquitous site in the bike-friendly city of Amsterdam and soon they will be able to charge their mobiles with bike power.

Nokia Oyj introduced a bicycle charger on Thursday aimed at developing countries with limited access to electricity, but the cell phone maker said the idea could catch on in Europe where cycling for work, shopping and errands is a common lifestyle.
The charger, which can be fitted into any Nokia phone with a 2mm charger jack uses a dynamo to generate electricity from the movement of the wheels, Nokia said in a statement.
"Bicycles are the most widespread means of transport in many markets around the world, so this is just one more benefit to be gained from an activity people are already doing," Alex Lambeek, Vice President at Nokia, said.
The price of the charger kit, which also includes a holder for securing the phone to the bicycle, will vary according to market, but in countries like Kenya, where the product was introduced on Thursday, it would be around 15 euros ($18) , a Nokia spokesman said in a statement.
To begin charging, a cyclist needs to travel around six kilometres per hour, and while charging times will vary depending on battery model, a 10 minute journey at 10 kmh produces around 28 minutes of talk time or 37 hours of standby time, the spokesman said. the faster you ride, the more battery life you generate.
The charger is set to become available through selected retailers and the company's online store before year-end, Nokia said.
The four new phones the company also introduced in Kenya on Thursday target developing markets, a key growth area for the  finnish company, and also contain features designed for the needs of people in countries where access to electricity is limited, such as a six-week battery standby time.

Health Issue: KICK'S JUST MYTH CUP OF COFFEE

Wake up and
smell coffee
it's all in mind

London: Does the morning cup of coffee help you kick start the day? Not really, it's all your mind, say scientists.

Researchers at the Bristol University found that the effect of caffeine, which has been believed to be an energy boosted, does not actually increase people's alertness and it may rather raise the risk of anxiety and high blood pressure.
Lead researcher Peter Rogers said their findings suggest that coffee drinkers may actually be better off without their habitual morning mug. "Our study shows we don't gain an advantage from having caffeine - although we feel alerted by it, this is caffeine just bringing us back to normal," Rogers said. "While caffeine can raise anxiety, tolerance means that for most caffeine takers this effect is negligible."
The researchers recruited 379 people who abstained from caffeine for 16 hours before drinking either caffeine or a placebo and then were tested for a range of responses. All were asked to rate their levels of anxiety and alertness and whether they had a headache before and after being given the caffeine or the placebo.
They were also asked to carry out a series of computer tasks to test their levels of memory, attentiveness and vigilance. Those who received the dummy drink reported a fall in alertness and an increase in headaches, neither of which were reported by those who received caffeine.
However, it was found that their post caffeine levels of alertness were no higher than those of consumers who received a placebo. This suggests caffine only brings coffee drinkers back up to ' normkal', the researchers said.
Those with the gene variant linked to anxiety tended to consume slightly larger amounts of coffee than others, suggesting a mild increase in anxiety may be a part of the pleasant buzz caused by caffeine.

Health Issue: Burgers raise risk of Asthama

Burgers raise asthma risk
in children, says study

London: Children who eat three or more burgers a week may be at a higher risk of asthma and wheezing. but a healthy diet rich in fruit and fish seems to stave off the risk, according to large international study.

Researchers from Germany, Spain and Britain who studied data on 50,000 children across the world found the link between burgers and asthma was strongest in rich nations where diets with high levels of junk food are more common.
A meat-heavy diet itself has no bearing on the prevalence of asthma, according to the researchers. Yet frequent burger eating could be a signal for other lifestyle factors which raise asthma risk.
"This is a sign that the link is not strongly related to the food itself, but that burgers are a proxy for other lifestyle factors like obesity and lack of exercise." said Gabriele Nagel of Ulm University, Germany, who led the study.
She added, however, that there were "biologically plausible" links for the positive effects of a healthier diet, which could be down to the antioxidants found in fruit and vegetables. and the omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in fish, which have anti-inflammatory properties.

50-Overs Cricket and Tournaments IND Vs Zim 2nd Match

STRUCK ON ZIM WAY
Hosts Thrash India, Now Twice-In-A-Row

Harare: A listless India received their second mauling in a week at the hands of hosts Zimbabwe, who crushed them by seven wickets in the ongoing cricket tri-series here on Thursday. In a shock repeat of the tournament opener, India dished out yet another pathetic display in all three departments of the game suffer a crushing defeat with 11.4 overs to spare that seriously jeopardised their chances of reaching the June 9 final.
Put into bat, India's famed line-up came out with a shoddy display to crawi to a below-par 194 for nine in 50 overs. Things, in fact, could have been worse but for Ravindra Jadeja's gritty 72-ball 51 down the order. India needed to bowl out of their skin to defend the paltry total but Zimbabwe cashed in on a steady start and cruised to 197 for three in 38.2 overs to humble their opponents. This was also India's first back-to-back defeat against the minnows.
For Zimbabwe, Brendan Taylor (74) and Hamilton Masakadza (66) scored bulk of the runs with their 128-run opening partnership in 26.3 overs as the hosts bagged five points, including a bonus, from the match. They now have nine points from three matches that brightened their chance for a place in the final.
India now must best Sri Lanka on Saturday and then wait for the outcome of the islanders' match against Zimbabwe on Monday for a place in the final Needing less than five runs an over.Zimbabwe made a slow but steady start with Masakzada and Taylor shunning risk in the first half hour before stepping up the tempo once they settled down.
Taylor, who played some exqui9site shots including a six off Umesh Yadav, reached his fifty in the 17th off 59 balls with a single off Jadeja, India could break the Zimbabwean opening stand in only the 27th over with Ojha removing Taylor who holed out to long off fielder Murali Vijay but not before taking the home side to the threshold of victory. After Taylor was out, Masakzada took upon himself the responsibility of maintaining the momemtum. Once he reached to his fifty, Masakzada hoisted Amit Mishra for two successive sixes in the 30th th over to raise the 150 of Zimbabwe innings.
Masakadza was out in the 32nd over of the bowling of Jadeja with Virat Kohli taking a stunning catch.
Jadeja (2/27) got his second wicket in the form of Charies Coventry (20) before captain Elton Chigumbura (16 not out) and jTatenda Taidu (13 not out) took Zimbabwe home comfortably.

Sewage plant plays Mozart to microbes:
A German sewage plant is playing Mozart to microbes to speed up waste breakdown. According to the Markische Allgemeine newspaper, the plat is playing classics such as The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro around-the-clock, via a series of speakers designed to replicate the acoustics of a concert hall. Bosses believe the composer's muxic will help reduce energy costs at the waste-treatment facility in Treuenbrietzen, southwest of Berlin. Scientists at German firm Mindus came up with the idea, saying micobes are particularly partial to harmonies and rhythms.
