RETURN OF THE RAJ
Royals Back In Hunt With 31-Runs Win

Mohali: It's falling into place for Rajasthan Royals. Two-in-two with a win against Kings XI Royals on Wednesday and one can expect Shane Warne's boys to make a recovery in the later stages of the IPL.
184 wasn't easy target and with Prity Zinta's boys losing wickets at regular intervals, it only became tough for them. Paceman Shaun Tait (3-22) Yusuf Pathan (2-9) and Siiharth Trivedi (2-29) put the brakes on kings XI as they tried to break the shackles. YuvrajSingh (15) was the key in the middle-order for the Kings, and even after he was dropped the left-hander couldn't make the most of it, getting out in the same over of Trivedi. Once Yuvraj was dismissed, it became tough for the Kings and Yusuf Pathan striking a couple of crucial blows, Rajasthan fought their way back.
Earlier, Warne's boys  rode on brisk cameos by Adam Voges (45 no), Faiz Fazal (45) and Michel Lumb (41) to post 183.
The Royals were off to a rollicking start and looked steady in the middle overs as well but they did not get the late flourishas the 200-mark eluded them.
Put into bat on a track which seemed to have something early for the pacers, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start in the match billed as the 'Basement battle' involving two teams alnguishing at the bottom of the IPL points table. Lumb was straightway in the thick of things as he smote two fours of Irfan Pathan's first over and his opening partner Naman Ojha (13) meted out the same treatment to comeback man S Sreesanth, who was drafted in at offie Ramesh Powar's expense.
Boundaries came thick and fast and the score cruised to 35 when Ljha's stay was cut short in the fourth over and the batsman received an animated send-off from bowler Sreesanth. An unperturbed Lumb hit Shalabh Srivastava for back -to-back boundaries and was inching close to his fifty when a smart piece of stumping by Kumar Sangakkara, off Piyush Chawla's only second delivery, cut short the Johannesburg-born Englishman's 30-ball knock that had seven crisp fours in it.

Rani Mukerji - NOTHING TO HIDE

Couple of changes

Their relationship has invited much speculation in the past. But despite intense pressure, they have never publicly confirmed it. in fact,if anything, Rani Mukerji has periodically chosen to deny her proximity to Aditya Chopra. But while Adi is known for the inordinate measures he takes to keep his private life just that, a public appearance with his lady love seemed just out of the question. That is, till last week.
The occasion was the birthday of Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar's mother. the get together at a south Mumbai hotel was a very low key affair with just close friends in attendance. Adi was the special guest that night And who should he choose to have on his arm when he made his appearance, than the now dqually reclusive Rani Mukerji?
Gone was the furtiveness, the 'who us?' pretension. In its place was a deep comfort level that was visible to all present. Says an eye witness, "Rani and Adi came in together and looked very much a couple. They walked in just before midnight and sat down for dinner next to each other. It's a clear public statement that Rani is indeed  his girl friend. "
Says another source, "Forget being seen with Rani, Adi doesn't like to be seen in public even by himself. He has been dating Rani for nearly three years now but never has he made a public appearance with her by his side. "

PATHAN CALLING PATHAN
Irfan And Yusuf Cross Each Other's Path As Kings XI Punjab Take On Rajasthan Royals

Mohali: With both teams looking up to Pathan brothers, Wednesday's IPL tie between Kings Xi Punjab and Rajasthan Royals promises to be an exciting clash.
While Kings, buoyed by the thrilling Super Over victory over Chennai Superkings on sunday night, will surely fancy their chances and expect Irfan Pathan to maintain his good form, Royal's success story will largely depend on the big brother, Yusuf, who can turn any match upside down on his day.
Both teams are at the bottom of the pool with just one win from four matches and both the squads have been hit hard by indifferent form to key players. But while Kings will look to the return of Brett Lee and Shaun Marsh, Royals have their task cut out.
Yusuf has yet to fire with bat after his record-breaking whirlwind ton in the team's first match. But, with the pitch at PCA Stadium promising to be a belter with nice carry and not much movement in the air, he will surely want to make a mark in match which both teams can't afford to lose. Royal's batting will also revolve around ICL returnee Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, the best bet for his consistency. But the bowling also doesn't look impressive with Shane Warne yet to show his cast his spin. Warne's country mate Shaun Tait, though bowling at 150kph, has deliveries where it matters the most.
KXIP are also having their share of problems. But the confidence boost they got by the skin of their teeth win on
Sunday would sure have lifted the gloom in the dressing room. But still the batting needs to fire with both Srilankans in the side - Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene-searching for form. But with Yuvraj showing signs of his batting prowess in the last match and Shaun Marxh joining the team, in-form batsman Ravi Bopara will enjoy batting without too much pressure.
Before South Africa's Juan Theron was included in the squad, KSIP bowling looked pedestrian with their main strike bowler S Sreesanth being carted all over the ground and beyond. But with Theron playing a big part in the win over Chennai and a reportedly "Fully fit" Lee itching to have a taste of the action, KXIP have lesser headache on this front.

IPL CRICKET 2010 - Chennai Vs Bangalore

IPL CRICKET 2010

Chennai Vs Bangalore on Wednesday

Bangalore: The writing was on the wall for Chennai super Kings when Robin Uthappa blasted an unbeaten 68 off 38 balls mainly on dropped chances and helped royal Challengers Bangalore put up a healthy total of 171 for five in the IPL match on Tuesday. In the end, the Bangalore team walked away with a comfortable 36 run win to had Chennai Super Kings their third loss in five matches.
The Super Kings' reply was shaky as Hayden struggled to score at his usual pace and one-down bat George Bailey was all at sea against wily. Bangalore captain Anil Kumble. After Parthiv Patel departed early, the Chennai chase went up in smoke as the asking rate climbed to more than 11. Then Hayden (32 off 28 balls) was run out just when he seemed to step up the run rate and the team fell like nine pins to9 end up at 135 for seven.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings showed they had a a problem of at the end of the innings, be it with bat, as in their last match against Kings XI, or ball as it turned out against RCB. Having struck at regular intervals to peg back the hosts to a modest 104 for 3 from their first 15 overs, the CSK bowlers, who should have pressed on from there, instead found themselves fetching the ball from well beyond the boundary ropes once too often.
Let off twice, first on five and then on 25, local lad Robin Uthappa made the visitors pay dearly with some out standing stroke play, all his six sixes, including one that went over the high roof, coming in the last four overs. Uthappa  (68 not out, 38b, 3x4, 6x6) had somewhat struggled in the initial part of his innings but when he started to turn it on, he sure put CSK off.

IPL CRICKET 2010 Punjab Vs CSK

IPL CRICKET 2010
Punjab Vs Chennai
Punjab's win over CSK was amazing

WEDNESDAY will witness the first of the do-or-die encounters in this year's IPL.  Both Rajasthan and Punjab would be eager to register their second win after they made amends, over the weekend, for their slow start.
Punjab's victory over Chennai was really amazing because I had switched off the television when there were 20 runs left for Chennai to win. I caught the Super Over on the highlights and it was a truly incredible win for Kumar Sangakkara's team. A victory like this could be a catalyst for the side, making them a stronger, more confident and charged unit in coming games.
The biggest gain for Punjab would be the way their icon, Yuvraj Singh, Pulled off the game for them. There has never been any doubt that the left-hander is one of the biggest talents around. Focusing on the game has been an issue in the past but when he puts his mind to it, Yuvraj has been a proven match winner.
Punjab's coach Tom moody is also back in the mix after an ordinary season with Western Australia. He is a fantastic man-manager and would be looking sorward to some positive news during his stint with the Kings XI.
Rajasthan Royals should also have gained a lot of confidence from their win over the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was an incredible win in its own way because Ganguly's men were simply not allowed to cut loose right through the innings.
Shane Warne and Moody are good mates so it would add some extra spice to see them on opposing sides. I expect a good contest, because neither team would be wanting a fourth loss in jfive games.
Monday's encounter between KKR and Mumbai Indians once again proved that the latter was playing freely while the former was still a victim of uncertainty and a fear of losing. T20 is all about going full throttle from the start, and you simply cannot have wickets in hand and yet not have a 180-plus total. KKR seems to be going at 80% of their full potential, and in some ways are playing the hesitant, circumspect brand of cricket that Mumbai were uilty of playing in the inaugural season.
Mumbai on the other hand are playing free, uninhibited cricket and taking full advantage of the good form Sachin Tendulkar has been displaying of late. They look determined to do well this season and their position at the top of the table announces that intent.
