IPL CRICKET 2010
Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Deccan Chargers

Chargers get the better of RCB

Nagpur:Who says that the shortest version of the game is not for the bowlers. The third edition of IPL is proving many set notions T20 to be just myths. The Collective effort of the bowlers helped Deccan Chargers record a crucial 13-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday.
First it was the fast and furious Dale Steyn who rocked DC with his superb intial three-wicket burst. The Chargers though recovered from the early blow, thanks to Monish Mishra and Rohit Sharma, to post 151 on the board. The Royal Challengers looked cruising to victory as Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis took the score to 74 for 1 by the 10th over. But Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh made themselves count taking four RCB wickets in the next six overs that yielded just 36 runs.Robin Uthappa threatened to spoil  the party but Harmeet Singh did the trick for DC.
The Decca win looked improbable as Steyn's initial bust left them reeling. Steyn sent back three Deccan Chargers men off his first eight balls. Steyn consumed Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibss and T Suman with just three runs on the board.
But a solid counter attack led by Rohit Sharma and Monish Mishra enabled Deccan Chargers to post a challenging 152-run target.

Delhi Daredevils Vs Kings XI Punjab

Kings make it tough for DD
Sanaga's Men Win To Put Delhi's Smis Entry On Hold

New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils, who were looking to seal their IPL semifinal berth, were made to bite the dust by a team languishing at the bottom of the league standings.
Kings XI had the last laugh as they outplayed their opposi9tion, Daredevils by 7 wickets here on Sunday. This was Delhi's second loss on the trot and they have 12 points from 11 matches while Punjab have eight from 12 games.
The conditions were extremely hot but that didn't keep the fans indoors. they came out in huge numbers and thronged the stadium to support their team. But they had to return disappointed, as they got to see only eight fours in the Delhi innings.
The only six was struck by Yuvraj singh when his team was slowly inching towards a comprehensive win. Incidentally, this was Kings XI's second successive victory.
The Ferozeshah Kota pitch wasn't as bad as it appeared, but the hosts made a mess of it. Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and opted to bat on a slow turner, where the ball was occasinally keeping low.
But the decision backfired as they were skittled out for a cheap score of 111.
In reply, Kings XI reached the winning target with a clinical approach with eight deliveries to spare. Riding on his recent good form, Mahela Jayawardene once again played an important knock ofr his team.
He made a patient 38 and was never in a hurry to finish things off. Kumar Sangakkara made 33 while Yuvraj stayed till the end to see Kings XI through. Earlier, Irfan Pathan and Piyush Chawla claimed three and two wickets respectively for their disciplined spells.
Despite losing the wicket of struggling Virendra Sehwag in the second over, Delhi still looked in control of the situation for a while when Gambhir came to the crease and played some brethtaking drives till a mix up with his partner David Warner. Gambhir was run-out and the job was again left for Paul Collingwood to complete. But before the English batsman could settle down to do some serious business, Warner ran himself out. Much was expected from Dinesh Karthik, but he too struggled.
Liberated from expectations, the Kings XI Punjab bowlers took some crucial wickets and didn't allow any of the Delhi batsmen to settle down.

ANOTHER MASTER STROKE
Tendulkar Guides Mumbai Indians Into Semifinals After 37-Run Win Over Royals

Jaipur: Skipper Sachin Tendulkar scored a masterly 89 off 59 balls to steer Mumbai Indians to their eighth win in the Indian Premier League on Sunday and ensure their qualification to the semifinals.
Mumbai Indians trounced Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs after scoring 174 for five at the Sawai Mansingh stadium. The home team found the going difficult right from the word go and ended up at 137 for eight the face of some tight bowling and sharp fielding.
With this win, Mumbai Indians logged 16 points while Rajasthan stayed on 12. Tendulkar (89, 59b, 10x4, 2x6), who got the Orange Cap, found an able ally in the form of Kieron Polard, who struck 25 off 13 balls. Together the duo put on 49 runs off 33 balls for the fifth wicket, which took the visitors to competitive total.
The Mumbai skipper, who got a reprieve at 45 when Aditya Dole dropped a sitter off Siddharth Trivedi, held the innings together and delighted the Jaipur crowd with some lusty blows towards the end with Trivedi and Shane Watson being at the receiving end. Watson, however, turned out to be the most successful bowler for the hosts with figures of 3-37.
Jean-Paul Duminy (31, 33b, 4x4) played a good hand too, reconstructing the innings in the middle with Tendulkar, but lost his wicket to Trivedi just when he needed to stay.
Mumbai Indians were in trouble at the start, losing three wickets inside four overs with only 30 on the board. Saurabh Tiwary (15,9b, 3x4) looked good before he lost his cool and his wicket to Watson, who engaged the left-hander in a war of words before having him caught at fine-leg off a well-directed bouncer.
Ambati Rayudu failed to get off the mark, falling to a Watson bouncer in the second over of the innings. The Aussie all-rounder accounted for Sanath Jayasuriya earlier in the over, when the 40-year-old lobbed a drive to Abhishek Jhunjhunwala at cover.
Rajasthan slumped to 11 for three, 34 for four and 62 for five as three batsmen ran themselves out. Zaheer Khan was the pick of the bowlers taking two wickets for 17 runs from four overs. The laft-arm medium-pacer had figures of two for 4 from three overs before getting some stick from Abhishek Raut and Aditya Dole in his last over.
Dole made 30 off 18 balls and Voges 28 off 27 balls, but both of them came after the damage had been done. Mumbai indians included medium-pacer Dhawal Kulkarni in their playing XI at the expense of Shikhar Dhawan with JAyasuriya coming in for Ryan McLaren. Hosts retained their playing XI from the last game against Kings XI Punjab.
The tie started 10 minutes late due to smoke over the field, which was caused by insect repellent spayed just before the start of the game.

Ram gopal Varama - INSPIRED

'God and Sex
is not a biopic of
Nithyananda'

His Last film, Rann, might have received mixed responses from critics and audiences, but Ram Gopal Varma is satisfied with his wo0rk. "I did complete justice to the subject but I don't understand why people didn't understand why people didn't like it." he says in his defense. And Ramu continues to be a busy man.Up next is a film on Swami Nithyananda. "It's not a biopic, though he has sparked my interest. Devotees forget that God men too are human, vulnerable to drives like power, fame, greed and sex," he explains.
The power of sex is what RGV wants to explore in his next project. "I found this connection between Goad and sex -- the title of the film -- Interesting to explore. The script's ready and we'll cast once I'm done with Raktha Charithra. " he adds.
Meanwhile, the director producer has wrapped up the promotion for Phoonk 2. "The story takes off from the black magic woman, coming back from the dead. I'd call this my first sequel because, unlike the Darna mana Hai series, with Phoonk, the audience is familiar with the family, story and characters." he says.
Meanwhile, RGV's Raktha Charithra is also taking shape. Starring Suriya, Priya Mani and Vivek Oberoi, the film is based on the true story of Andhra gangster-turned-politician, Paritala Ravi. "It's a true story in my perception. In the process of getting closer to the truth, I became a journalist, a detective and a psychoanalyst," RGV says.
Phoonk 2 and Raktha Charithra will also be released in Tamil and Telugu . Is that his southern connection at work? "I select actors whom I have Knowledge of. I don't sign them on the basis of the language the film will be made in," says RGV, adding, "I love the intense roles Suriya does and Priya's performance in Paruthiveeran blew me away."
