'I DON'T WANT TO 

BE A HERO'

Says Gopal, who is all set to woo the audience in Maathi Yosi...

         The minute one asks Gopal how he is doing, he immediately shoots back, Neenga sollungalen(you, tell me)! The actor, who formed one part of the hilarious duo in Kalloori, is back to facing the camera in Maathi Yosi (MY).

            "It's been quite a while since I faced the are lights. I was in college when I did Kalloori. But my priority then was education. Moreover. I was waiting for something really interesting to come my way. when I got an offer to work in MY, I knew it was the perfect vehicle to make a come back, " he says.

           Gopal contnues, "As the title suggests, MY is a very different film. It's an interesting tale of four vagabonds from a rustic village in Madurai. Onaan, Maanga, Maari and Paandi decidee to visit the city and the film is about their experience in the city. since we were all yougsters, we had a blast shooting for the film."

        The lanky actor surprises us when he says that he is least intersted in playinjg a hero. "I don't know why, but the role of a hero never interested me. I want to do meaningful roles like the one in Kalloori. Even though my screen time was short, the audience loved my character. The film made me a known face. sikilarly, I'm sure MY will take me places, " he says.

       So, what nest after MY ? "I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Yaen Ippade Mayakkenai. It's likely to hit the screens in April. It's a romantic flick and will be a visual treat to the audience, " he gushes. Looks like this actor is here to stay!

             We caught her along with mother Babita, sis Kareena and bor-in-law-in-waiting Saif Ali Khan at a party thrown by the Kapoor Khandaan's old family physician in Mumbai.

               Karisma, dresed in a White Anarkali salwar Kameez that showed off her cute baby bump, looked like a school girl with clipped-up hair, pink cheeks and rosy lips. That's what the chill of Delhi does to her, "I enjly the hustle and bustle of Mumbai and the calm and lovely winters of Delhi9, " she breezily said. Which doesn't mean she is on a socialising spree in this state.

          No, karisma made the trip to Mumbai to be with Kareena, who has time on her hands. Her six year  old daughter Samaira is Kareena's biggest fan. and every trip Karisma makes to Mumbai. Samaira goes home having learned some new Bollywood dance step from her aunt.

            Meanwhile, Bollywood hasn't seen Karisma in action on screen since Shakti in 2002. She did an odd television show, of course, but what fans are really looking forward to is a full-length masala film with the Sarkay le khatiya babe, After all, if Dhak-Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit could return after two kids, why can't karisma after her second baby?

Enquiries must have come in and they may be following up with my team. "I'm travelling a lot these days, so I've no clue about it. I haven't confirmed anythink, " she tells us.But shruti doesn't rule out the possibility of her doing the project if she's officially approached for it. "If it's exciting, then why not?          Kareena thinks of Saif Ali Khan's family as her own. Apparently, she has great regard for Saif's sister Soha Ali Khan and her beau Kunal Khemu. A case in point is Kareena strongly recommending Kunal to Golmaal 3 director Rohit Shetty. she convinced Shetty to include him as an integral part of the Golmaal series.

           Recently, Kareena told Shetty that Kunal would be an asset to his forthcoming film, in which she stars as well. Says a source, "Recently Saif, Kareena, Soha and Kunal met for dinner. Kareena and Kunal had an intense conversation about his forthcoming projects. She thinks he is a very talented actor and is just making the wrong choices with his movies. she mentioned the same to him and discussed Glmall 3 with him. "

           It's thoughtful gesture on Kareena's part to help out Soha's boyfriend. The source adds, "Golmaal director Tohit was nunting for the star cast and Kareena was aware of that. "We hear she had a word with Rohit, who was convined by Kareena's reasoning. The director immediately decided that Kunal should be sharing the screen space with Kareena , Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi and Mithun Chakraborty.

       Kareena and Kunal both remained unavailable for comment. However, director Rohit Shetty denied the story.
