THE DINOSAUR'S WORLD

When dinosaurs lived, the earth was very different from what it is today. for example, the Alps, the Himalaya , and many other surface features had not yet formed.At the time of the first dinosaurs, the dry land of the earth formed one super continent, called Pangaea. Animals were able to reach all parts of this huge area. As a result, when Pangaea split uup to form separate continents , dinosaurs lived on all of them. This means that their fossils are found on all the continents, even Antarctica.

Dinosaurs ruled the earth for about 160 million years. They appeared on the earth about 225 million years ago and died about 65 million years ago. The name dinosaur , which means terrible lizard, covers the whole group of these prehistoric reptiles. There are over 800 known species of dinosaurs, and more are found every year. They did not all live at the same time. When one species died out, another rose up to take its place.No human being has ever seen a real dinosaur, because they died long before the first humans appeared.

Finding dinosaurs

All that is known about dinosaurs has been learned from their fossils, which include preserved bone, teeth, eggs, nests, footprints and waste material. By studying the bones, scientists can tell how they supported the animal's muscles when the dinosur was alive. This enables them to work out the shape of the dinosur's body and also to understand how it walked and ran. Teeth, which are very hard, often suvive. from these, it is possible to say whether the animal was a plant-eater or a flesh-eater.

Guess who was the hot topic of discussion on the sets of a film ? Priety Zinata ! A bunch of Bollywood stars, after the director had announced 'pack up' were heard sitting and gossiping about the actress. "when stars have no work, they usually say 'I'm reading a few scripts, let's see how it goes. In reality, they have now work, " laughed a senior actor and added, "Preity's now saying the same thing. Bollywood is like a conveyor belt, if you are off it, you can't get onto it again, " he said.

"Preity's 'innings' is over, " he added. To that another actor said, "When their career is rocking, they say 'I'm tired of doing commercial films, I want to do something more meaningful and then when they get a jolt, they promptly go on to say, 'I'm dying to do a hard-core masala film." Gossip mongers beware, the fiery Preity Zinta won't take any of this lying down. "Today, I've made so much money that I don't need to work for the rest of my life. But I can't sit doing nothing !" she says!

PIAA BAJPAI - HIGH SPIRITED

Actress Piaa bajpai's performance in Goa seems to be taking her places. If sourcess in the industry are to be believed, the actress will now play an important and meaty role in cinematographer-turned-director K V anand's next film Ko. The film, which stars Jiiva, karthika and ajmal apart from Piaa, will have music by Harris Jayaraj.

Piaa, who plays Jai's love interest in Goa, a Venkat Prabhu film, also has Bale Pandiya with Vishnu of Vinnila Kabaddi Kuzhu fame waiting to hit the screens.

Sources say that the actress, who took part in the tour to promote Goa, impressed audiences all over Tamil Nadu by speaking a few sentences in Tamil wherever she went!

RITEISH DESMUKH and JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ - WATCH OUT

Riteish Deshmukh, we have three questions for you. What's with the skinny, scrawny, almost anorexic look these days? Success, they say goes to your head, but what's gone to your head, dude ? Are you and Jacqueline Fernandez more than just friends ? The actor and Jacqueline were holed up in a vanity van throughout the day on the sets of Sajid Khan's Housefull. The Sri Lankan beauty, who's just part of a song in the film, was all chirpy and happy in his company. Riteish, apparently, had also told a cameraman at a recent event that he won't pose separately for a photo "because we are together now" we, unlike Genelia, have no objection to that, but we do have an objection to your attitude. He, apparently, has the habit of making people wait. He was irritated when photographers asked him to pose for a picture when the rest of the cast including the star of the film, Akshay, was more than relenting. "I don't know why he's throwing an attirude, "remarked a person from the sets. Riteish, you must have already angered the Sainiks for your growing friendship with a non-Marathi mulgi, but why anger the media too. Mend your ways, boy !

Having lifted the Nagaah (veil) off her, Uravashi Sharma belives in taking things at a slow but steady pace. "I have shopping because I get lost when there are too many choices, "Urvashi confesses, and adds, "I don't know how Priyan sir (Priyadarshan) manages to shoot for two of his project together."

While Chai Garam and khatta Meetha (yeah, our Trisha's Bollywood launchpad) are keeping Urvashi busy, her performance in Baabarr has been received well. "I recently got an award (Lion's Gold Award) for my performance in the film. This is my first award, "beams Urvashi.

Considering she has been a model, isn't the ramp a lucrative proposition? "I haven't done too many ramp shows because of my heigy. I am 5' 61/2" , which i short by ramp standards. But i"m a commercial face."

The actress adds that she doesn't do fashion shows for the money. "I don't switch brands because I dont't want to ruin my image, " she says and adds, "I don't want a bad girl image. I'd rather hae the pretty, and girl-next-door rag rather then be called hot and sexy."

She, however, goes on to add how people have found her cute in her bikini sequence in Naqaab. doesn't all this talk of a good girl image and bikini sound contradictory ?

Urvashi reasons, "I'm comfortable in a bikini. There's nothing wrong in it as long as you can carry one off. You either look cheap or hot in a bikini. and I don't look cheap or hot in one. Like I said, I look cute in a bikini, "

And is she cerain that Bollywood won't stereotype her if she is so gung-ho about her girl-next-door image? "An image can be created but not talent. Simply put, it's a combination of kismet and skill. If something's not ment for you, it won't happen, Urvashi concludes.

Tusshar Kapoor is credit card challenged. Well, there is no problem with his credit limit as he is one of Bollywood's rchest guys. But Tusshar has one serious problem. He forgets to take his credit card back after a transaction is completed. He in variably has a restaurant manger or a store owner chasing him to return his card, "thankfully, I've always had people coming back to give me my card, " says the actor. Otherwise, he'd have father Jeetendra giving him a lesson or two on how t manage his credit card.

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole is seeking divorce from soccer star husband Ashley Cole after a "sex test" scandal.

"Call me Cheryl Tweedy, not Cole, " she urged her pals, Cheryl apparently took the decision after consulting mum Joan Cllaghan and popguru Simon Cowell.

She is planning to jet off with mum before consulting lawyers over the divorce battle, "He's pushed her to the limit. she'll never be able to forgive Ashley for his stupidity. she's in bits and feels totally humiliated, " said the singer's friend. Abhishek Bachchan and the team at National Bingo Night decided to add some spic tadka to the show by taking it to Baroda recently. Abhishek visited the city to shoot for the show on the specially created sets, placed against the majestic backdrop of Laxme Vilas Palace. Abhishek made his entry to the tune of the hugely famous song from his movie, Gurubhai Gurubhai Aala Re...., which made the audience ecstatic. However, this episode was even more special for a young man called Prayag. In what could be called the highest form of hero worship, Prayag actually composed a love song to serenade his favourite stars -- Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ! Promptly, Abhishek dialled Ash's number to tell her about this phenomenal fan. However, on hearing Ash's eagerness to hear the song herself, he put her on to Prayag, who sang the song for her as well! Don't miss the National Bingo Night tonight at 9 pm on Colors.

SHAH RUKH KHAN : BEYOND BORDERS

While the foreign press is going gaga over Shah Rukh Khan's performance in MINIK. (especially the Germans who love out King Khan and always give his movies 'star-studded' reviews)the makers are apparently planning to dub the film in German too.

And we aren't surprised by this, because recently, SRK told us about his terrific fan following in that part of the world. "I remember when I was there the last time, I saw a very sweet headline in the papers, and though I don't believe in such headlines, this one was very interesting. It read "There was Martin Scorsese, there were the Rolling Stones and there was King Khan. "so, there were a huge number of people who had watched and liked Om Shanti Om in Germany, and they have always been very kind to my movies. "

We believe SRK when he says that. Why else should his fans trudge to Berlin all the way from Vienna, Prague, Austria and other parts of Europe to pay up to 1,000 Euros per ticket (and those were sold out in five seconds flat) to meet our 'royalty' khan ? Well, well, well.... in the West, we think, it is Brad Pitt.... then there is Shah Rukh Khan, How cool, huh ?

Choreographer Kalyan is back witha bang, this time anound as an actor. The dance master, who made an impact in the ajith-Prashanth starrer Kalloori Vaasal, more than a decade ago, is now back as a villain in the Krishan Vijayalakshmi starrer Katradhu Kalavu.

"It's long time since i faced the camera and I', really excited about Katrathu Kalavu. director Balaji Devi Prasad is a close friend of mine and when he asked me to play the role, I couldn't say no. I have also choreographed a number for the film and I'm quite excited about the whole project, " says Kaluyan

Producer Mohan Nataraj, however, has ropedin director Bhoopathuy Pandian to derct a film with the dates actor Vikarm has given him. This film, according to sources, will be in action-packed entertainer in which Vikram plays a cop.

Meanwhile, when we recently quizzed ileana about the now shelved film this is what she had to say, " I have always been flooded with Tamil film offers after Kedi, but I took up this project because it shunnded exciting. It's an anothor backed role which I'm looking forward to doing, " she reasons. So, the big question being asked in Kollywood circles currently is -- will she still do Vikram's next , considering that it now has a different director and script ?
