Says shruthi, "I've done three glamorous roles and now, I think it;s time I gegan looking for character toles. As an actress, one should be open to doing a variety of roles. Being versatile is vital, ".
Although she will be seen donning glamorous outfits in her next film Guru Sishyan, she points out that her role in this film will be completely different from her earlier ones.
"The  Guru Shishyan role came my way when I was doing Naan Avan Ilai 2. It was then that I met director Sakthi Chidambaram. He offered me the role and I accepted it because the film is a comedy, " she says, even as she begins to shower praises on her co-stars in the film, Sundar C and Sathyaraj.
"I must say that the experience of working with them was really good. Both of them are senior actors and they have a great sense of humour. Also, they were very cooperative and down-to earth. It was a pleasure working with them, " she says and goes on to narrate an interesting incident that took place while shooting for the film.
"We had just shot a song in a place called redang in Malaysia and were on out way back to the mainland when we realised that an earthquake had struck Indonesia. An alert had been issued and the sitation on the boat turned tense. Dark clouds filled the sky and it began to pour as well. The visibility level dropped. To add to the trouble, the boat didn't have light. As a result, out boatman couldn't see where he was heading. However, he was a smart man and navigated the jboat to a bridge that had been erected for scuba diving. We were stuck on it for  three hours. Then, they got another hoat which had lights. It was then that we were brought to the shore, from where we proceed to Chennai. That was quite a scary incident, " she recalls.
The actress, after finishing work on Guru Shishyan, is now working on Aadu Aata Aadu, the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Thiruttu Payale. "I play Sonia Agarwal's role in it, "she smiles.
Finally, draw her attention to the fact that people in the Tamil film industry have started comparing her with Namitha and ask her if she is happy about it and ask her if she is happy about it and she replies, "I'm neither pleased nor displeased. We are two different individuals. No comparisons, please!"

Sandra Bullock

The Razzies and the Oscar will share's shelf space' in the Blid
Side actress' home....

Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock plans to display her Oscar and Golden Raspberry trophies side by side to remind her of the highs ans lows of the movie industry.
"They're going to sit side by side, as they should. You know we're in the entertainment business...that's what we're supposed to do. You take the good with the not-so-good, " a popular website quoted her as saying.
"I had the best time at the Razzies... It is what it is and, you know, it probably means more that both of them (awards) happened at the same time because it's the great equalizer. Nothing ever lets me get too full of myself. It quickly chops me off at the knees, and I like it that way because "They'll sit side by side in a nice little shelf somewhere; the Razzie may be on a different shefl, lower. "
Meanwhile, the actress--who picked up the statuette for her role in The Blide side -- admitted that while she was over whelmed by her first ever academy award win, she was longing to go home. HOCKEY WORLD CUP - Germany Vs New Zealand

Germany Make the Grade

New Delhi: The German machine roared, stuttered a bit, then sprung back to life. A 5-2 victory over New Zealand in Tuesday's action in the Hero Honda FIH World Hockey Cup sealed a semifinal spot for the Olympic and defending champions but not before the Black sticks threatened to spoil the script by reducing a 0-3 deficit to 2-3.
The Kiwis, handicapped without injured captain and striker Phillip Burrows, now face the possibility of playing off for the 9th-10th positions unless Canada beat Argentina to push them a rung higher.
Germany on their part won't be affected by the next match between the Netherlands and soth Korea, one of whom will now be eliminated fromthe semifinal race.
Captain Maximillian Muller wasn't entirely happy with his team's performance but praised his players' ability to play as a solid unit. "After being 3-0 up we lowered out game by 20 percent. Guess it's a mental thing, " he said.
A disappointed Dean Couzins, the stand-in NZ captain, said, "We didn't play well enough in crucial positions in the last two matches and, of course, we missed Phil (Burrows)."

Argentina take fourth spot in Pool A
Argentina finally broke a losing sequence against Pan American arch rivals Canada with an exciton 4-2 win. WORLD CUP HOCKEY - Indian Team Coacher

India have to learn the are of winning
Team Has Shown Verve But Many Problems Remain

New Delhi: The group stage is over India are in line to finish seventh and there is little excitement about that. Hockey has come home after years and that surely has got something to do about this despondency.
Well, fans are fans and they were probably hoping for a miracle but even the critics are itching to dip their pens in vitriol. Is it fair to pan this Indian bockey team? Was the team really good enough to have made the top six?
Well, the reality is they are not as good as the top European teams. Tehy can match them at times, even play with more flair, but the Indians have yet to learn the art of winning games. They still have to learn some nuances of moern hockey which is constantly changing with new rules and interpretation.
The expectations arose after the Pakistan game. The Indians moved like a team and like a dream. The obvious edge to the rivalry added to the excitement. After that it was a ide through a diffecult, at times uncharted, terrain. In almost all the other games, India woke up late. Firat, Australia punctured their bubble of enthusiasm with a ruthless display and after that the team was always playing catch-up with ground reality.
They were below par against Spain and were then surprised by England's clinical, workmanlike approach. from there, their story of the World Cup became a story of fightbacks. Tehy fought with thier backs to the wall against England and almost held them. And then, they managed to hold south Africa in a game which was theirs. But that was a very valuable draw--which brings us to the key point--Has it gone so wrong for India?
Not really. The No. 12 team has already made the top-eight grade. India has not done that sonce Sudney 1994 when they finished fifth. Sure, they had the home advantage and fans packed the stands in supprt. But the resolve to move up was there. The team has rarely shown the mental strength that it has here. And that can make a lot of difference in the future.
Coach Jose Brasa was in fact happy about the fighting spirit when he said on Monday night: "We have conceded early goals but not late goals, which was a problem in the past. "
Beyond this, many problems do exist. The biggest disappointment for India has been the defensive drrors and their inability to score through penalty corners. Packed with three drag flickers, India were hoping to surprise the rivals. They were forced to look for field goals midway through the match against england. A lot of work needs to be done on the defence, more so with the game becoming faster due to the new selfpass rule. You blink and you are dead.
The midfielders, led by playmaker Sardar Singh, one of the very few world class players in the team, have not fared badly, though one wishes they could learn to attack through the middle more often. They kept running into walls and were forced to open up flanks. The forwards have been good onloy in patches. But more on the players later as Inida still have a match to go.
And yes, a word on the contoversy over TV rererals during the match against South Africa; It's a grey area and has to be sorted out. Brasa deciede not to attack the technical officials on this. "I don't think the Indian team has been victimized. Nothing has been done on purpose. Our boys are nice players.... nobody would have anything against them. "
surely, nobody would but what Brasa did not say was that his players need to be meaner and smarter on the field. Nice guys don't always win.
