Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Doesn't fit ? Throw a fit !
Many stars are known to throw tantrums. But it came as a surprise when we heard 'Miss Professional' Priyank Chopra creating a Anand's Anjaana Anjaani . a source from the unit reveals, "Manish Malhotra is styling Priyanka, who is shooting for Anjaana Anjaani in the US. She has an extremely glamorous look in the film. While Priyanka likes the look Manish has given her, she has a lot of issues with the assistant stylist assigned to her by Manish. Priyanka isn't happy at all with what the assistant stylest has been coming up with right from the colour combination, outfit combination, etc. She is finding the combination of colours and clothes given by this stylist, very jarring."

The source continues, :The assistant stylist herself seems quite worried about the situation. Since she is a junior, she can't even explain herself. Priyanka has complained to Manish and he is now helping out with the combination. But it is practically impossible for him to reach every location. He has pacified Priyanka and has spoken to the assistant too.But each passing day is proving more and more difficult for the stylist because Priyanka seems to have an issue with everything she is giving her to wear. "

While eyewitnesses say that to some extent, the stylist must be going wrong with her selections. but Priyanka is also being very rude to her. " The entire crew is in New York and the stylist has no option but to stick on. She can't just walkout, "adds our source.

HAIR CARE: Tress Control

There are simple ways to keep your hair at its healthiest this season
The two most visible parts of a person are hair and skin. Hair loss can be devastating and shouldn't be ignored. It can lead to body dysmorphic disorder, which leads to destruction of self-image, prestige and confidence. And cold weather can wreak havoc on your hair. Trichologist Dr Apoorva shah says that cold winter air is more drying and less humid and therefore more abusive than other times of the year. "Indoor heating devices create a dryer climate and hair loses its healthy, shimmering look, " he says.

HANDY TIPS
Hair requires only a limited amount of washing, just enough to cleanse your hair of dirt. In winter you should be extra careful that natural hair oils are not depleted due to excessive washing.

  • Add moisture to your hair. apply jaborandi hair milk for last rinse.
  • Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair and needs special attention in winter to prevent frizziness and split ends. If you have curly hair, don't rinse out all your conditioner, or re-apply a light coat after towel-drying.Even if you have oily hair, apply a conditioner to the ends to help keep hair healthy and prevent frizziness.
  • hair static is causes byy a lack of hair moisture. Brush withy natural and not plastic bristles.
  • Never keep your hair wet for a long period of time or brush it when it's wet - hair is at its seakest then.
  • Try to towel dry your hair instead of blow drying it.
  • Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the cold and wind, but make sure that it isn't so tight that it resticts blood circulation in your scalp.
  • Winter is also the time when split ends work their way up to the hair shafts.Trim split ends and style your hair with a braid, twist or a knot. Avoid deeping your hair untied and open, the wind can damage your tresses.
  • Avoid frequent colouring, streaking or ironing as these treatments rob the hair of its moisture. If you can't do without using a blow dryer, don't forget to use a leave-in conditioner before using it.

PREJUDICES

STORY OF HANDICAPS

What are the causes of these prejudices ?
Ignorance - We believe whatever others say blindly and without any verification.

Rumours - Believing rumours without checking them.

Non - verification of news and information - Believing all news and information be true without critically examining them.

Traditional behaviour - Using proverbs, narrating stories and quoting sayings which ridicule and offend the weaker sections of society without examining their truth, value and content. When elders at home speak negatively or disparagingly about individuals and other communities, we believe blindly whatever they speak blindly. "These people are like this because they belong to this community" - such generalizations are quite common among us.

Jealousy - Because we are jealous of a prarticular person or a group of persons, we tend to form wrong opinions and ideas about them.

Caste - The upper caste people look down upon the other caste people and speak ill of them. Like caste, riches and high position in society are also factors that give rise to prejudices. We gradually internalise these prejudices and when we relate with others with these prejudices, we disregard human dignity, and destroy humanness, we do not give importance to love and compassion in our lives.

We should get rid of such prejudices. Only by critically examining traditions, verifying rumours and checking the news, information, events, etc., can we weaken the hold of, and even eliminate, prejudices in us. Such efforts will result in the growth of humanness in us.

LAB DIAGNOSIS (HIV)

DETECT HIV VIRUS

What is an HIV test?
Shortly after infection with HIV.the body starts to respond by making antibodies against the virus. This usually takes about 6-12 weeks. An HIV test is a blood test that can find out if these specific antibodies are present in the blood it does not detect the virus itself.

What do the results mean?

A positive result in a person over 15 months old means that :
The person has antibodies against HIV, and is thus HIV -infected and can transmit the virus to others.
A positive result in a child under 15 months old can mean either that:
The child is infected with HIV, OR
The child is infected with HIV, but has received antibodies from the mother,in the same way as many other
antibodies are transferred during pregnancy.
A negative test result can mean either that : -the person is not infected with HIV, OR
The person is infected with HIV, but has not yet made antibodies against the virus. (This is called the "window period")

The HIV test

Does not provide any information about a person's present state of health.
Does not determine if a person has HIV -related disease, cannot tell when or how a person became infected with HIV does not tell if a person with HIV infection has transmitted the virus to anyone else. Because the
results of the HIV test can have dramatic effects on families, relationships, employment and the individual's own well-being, it is important that people be tested only with their consent, that they be counselled  before and after testing, and that the results be kept confidential, that is, shared only with the individual, or others designated by the individual.
