There are simple ways to keep your hair at its healthiest this season
The two most visible parts of a person are hair and skin. Hair loss can be devastating and shouldn't be ignored. It can lead to body dysmorphic disorder, which leads to destruction of self-image, prestige and confidence. And cold weather can wreak havoc on your hair. Trichologist Dr Apoorva shah says that cold winter air is more drying and less humid and therefore more abusive than other times of the year. "Indoor heating devices create a dryer climate and hair loses its healthy, shimmering look, " he says.

HANDY TIPS
Hair requires only a limited amount of washing, just enough to cleanse your hair of dirt. In winter you should be extra careful that natural hair oils are not depleted due to excessive washing.

  • Add moisture to your hair. apply jaborandi hair milk for last rinse.
  • Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair and needs special attention in winter to prevent frizziness and split ends. If you have curly hair, don't rinse out all your conditioner, or re-apply a light coat after towel-drying.Even if you have oily hair, apply a conditioner to the ends to help keep hair healthy and prevent frizziness.
  • hair static is causes byy a lack of hair moisture. Brush withy natural and not plastic bristles.
  • Never keep your hair wet for a long period of time or brush it when it's wet - hair is at its seakest then.
  • Try to towel dry your hair instead of blow drying it.
  • Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the cold and wind, but make sure that it isn't so tight that it resticts blood circulation in your scalp.
  • Winter is also the time when split ends work their way up to the hair shafts.Trim split ends and style your hair with a braid, twist or a knot. Avoid deeping your hair untied and open, the wind can damage your tresses.
  • Avoid frequent colouring, streaking or ironing as these treatments rob the hair of its moisture. If you can't do without using a blow dryer, don't forget to use a leave-in conditioner before using it.
