Rahman does it again !

A R Rahman's electric number Jai Ho from Slum-dog Millionaire has shaken the music world like never before. This was proved yet again at the 52nd Annual Grammy night in which the Mozart of Madras bagged a double delight.

The music composer, who famously said Ella Pugazhim Iraivavaukke on the Oscar stage, has indeed proved that Indian music can have global appeal. "Insane, eh ? I never even dreamt about winning all these awards, " he said, post bagging the two Grammys for Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture and Best Motion Picture sond.

The ace musician thanked his scores of fans for their immense love and warmth. "My well wishers from around the world are the ones who keep me going." said Tahman, who was in the news last week for receiving the Padma Bhushan.

While he rocked the Tamil music with Roja many years ago, Slumdog Millionaire has catapulted Rahman on the international arena. "It might change the way films are being made to an extent, "said the composer to CT in an interview sometime ago, "SM is very Indian and not a white man's story."

The pressure to deliver better music increases post the phenomenal Grammy win. But despite the adulation and accolades, music comes first for him. "Work comes first for me, "he says. Jai Ho India indeed !
