KAINAAT ARORA - NEWBIE

New Kid on the block

           

          She didn't chase the are lights. In fact, it was showbiz that chased her at the tender age of 17, when she was spotted as she casually walked the streets of Mumbai.

        A fashion designing student and an aspiring basketball player then, Kalinaat Arora became the face of many braqnds, and how finds herself shaking a leg with none other than Akshay Kumar in the film Khatta Meetha.

        "It's a special appearance, but I've got a great opportunity. I'm doing a special number -- Aila re.

       I'm dressed pretty much like Dimple Kapadia in the song Jhooth bole kauva kaate in Bobby, " she told us. It's too difficult for the newbie to get along with the top-league Akshay. "At first Akshy and I didn't speak much, but than I had to get cosy with him in one of the sequences, I went up to him and asked him to make me feel comfortable. I was the only woman on the sets, and that didn't make things easier. It took all of two minutes for Akshay to make me feel at home ! He spoke about out Punjabi connection and that did the trick, " narrates Kainaat.

         The debutante, who is the cousin of the late Divya Bharati, takes career advice from Sajid Nadiadwala and Om Prakash Bharti. "It's very kind of them to guide me. I', here to make it on my own with sheer hard work and determination. I don't want to rush into anything, " explains the damsel.
