ALL FOR A CAUSE
Director Madhumita is someone who believes in giving back to the society. Don't believe us? Well, she recently donated two lakh rupees to the Mahesh memorial Trust in aid of children suffering from cancer. This amount is part of the first day collection of her second directorial venture, Kola Kolaya Mundhrika (KKM).
Talking to Chennai Times, madhumita says, "i have gained a lot from the society and I believe that I have to give back to it."
She adds, " We shot Vallamnai Thaarayoo in Amar Seva Sangam in Ayikudi (which is in Tirunelveli) and after the film released. I booked a theatre in Tirunelveli and took 500 differently abled children from the Sangam to watch the film. We also domated one lakh rupees to them, And now, with KKM. we wanted to do something similar. We realised that children suffering from cancer need to laugh and de-stress more than anyone else. So, on the day the film released (May 21), we had a special screening for these children. i Later, on June 7, Kamal Haasan sir handed over a cheque of two lakh rupees to the members of the trust."
Meanwhile, Madhumita is busy scripting her next movie. "It will be a fast-paced thriller. We will go on the floors by September," she signs off.
