Genelia - MAKING A POINT

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Aussies love Genelia!

While a segment of Indians settled in Australia are reeling under racist attacks. The Jaane Tu...gal Genelia D'Souza apparently a huge craze in Australia or so says her PR machinery.
Recently, Gen darling was shooting for her Telugu film Orange (which might also be released in Tamil) in Australia.
The film is being directed by Bhaskar (of Bommarrilly fame), who was an assistant to Jayam Raja. Orange, which also stars Ram Charan Tej, is a romcom and has music by Harris Jayaraj.
Now, we hear that Genelia was treated to a very warm welcome and some unexpected bonhomie on the sets there. The Australian Minister for Education also stopped by their location and hung around for a chat.
Genelia, being the vivacious, spirited person that she is, naturally got along very well with the minister and ended up exchanging a lot of opinions and thoughts, especially about the attacks on the Indian students studying there.
The minister did a good job though, by instantly perking Gen up by telling her that her Orange was the biuggest film to be shot in Australiaso far?
Apart from being invited to the Parliament for lunch, which unfortunately out dear Gen couldn't attend, she made sure that the minister knew how much of a blast she was having shooting down under.
Now, if out cine industry were to ever pick an ambassador to represent the case of the harassed Indians in Australia, it woulod be Genelia, of course!
