VITAMINS

VITAMIN D

             This vitamin helps in absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorus and thus assists in growth of body. It is also called the 'Sunshine Vitamin'.

          Either a deficiency or an excess of this vitamin can seriously affect the bones. Its deficiency causes rickets, a bone disease.

           Eggs, milk, fish liver oil and sulight are its sources. It forms in the skin when the body is exposed to sunlight.
