KHER: DOWN MEMORY LANE Kashmiri pandits have made a significant countribution to Indian culture and sensibkilies. From philosophers to poets and artists, the Kashmir valley has given us some of the best talent. And, one of Bollywood's most talented and versatile actors Anupam kher, is a Kashmiri Brahmin by birth. It is no wonder then that the actor considers the film Lamhaa close to his heart and identifies with his character to a great extent. Shooting for the film took him down memory lane, where he grew up in a place we consider the jannat on earth! Anupam went back to the house in kwhcih he grew up and shared tales of his childhood memories with the poeple currently living there and some unit members. "The reason why I chlse to do this film is because I like Rahul's work as a director. My character is also very strong and interesting. Lamhaa deals with various issues - army, terrorism, Kashmiri pandits et al. The film go back to my hometown after a long gap and this remains one of the most nostalgic moments of my life. I hope to set tup a trust and help Kashmiri pandits get back to their hometown with honour and dignity." |
