HIGH HOPES: Arjun

NEED A HIT!         Action king Arjun is waiting with bated breath for his Maasi to hit the screens. The actor, who didn't have a single release last year, is pinning all his hopes on the film. Though the actor has several films in his hand, including Vandae Maatharam, Mei Kaan, Vallakottai and JaiHind 2, he's eagerly awaiting Maasi's release.          Director Kicha, at a recent press conference, said that he was planing to release Maasi and Bhavani in July. Maasi, which has Sandalwood heroine Haripriya playing the lead, will see Arjun playing a cop. He fights the goons and political miscreants who corrupt the society.         A source close to the actor says. "It's true that Arjun has played a cop in several of his hit flicks. But, he knows it's a safe bet and he can never go wrong with this role."          Meanwhile, as newer action heroes like Suriya, Vikram, Vishal and Arun Vijay are making their mark as action heroes with their daredevil action stunts, Arjun has started worrying. He needs a hit desperately to regain his position as an action hero.          And now, we hear that the dubbing rights of  Dhalapathy (Maasi in Telugu) have been sold and that the two versions will release simultaneously.          Arjun, who was last seen on screen in Thiruvannamalai, is also doing a TV commercial. But we hope his stint on the silver screen continues!
