PERFECT FIT : Sonam Kapoour and Shahid Kapoor

After auditioning a number of aspirants including Shatrghan sinha's daughter Sonkshi, Govinda's daughter Narmada, and even Alyque Padamsee's daughter Shazahn, Pankaj Kapur has finally decided to cast Anil Kapoor's daugter Sonam opposite his star son Shahid in Mausam.

A source says, "Everyone involved with the project - Pankaj, the producers Sheetal Talwar and Madhu Mantena and the creative team - rate Sonam highly as an actress. The entire Mausam camp is happy about her inclusion in the film."

Pankaj's wife Supriya Pathak is particuularly kicked about Sonam playing the female lead. a source close to the film confirms, "Supriya and Soanm got along like a house on fire duringthe making of Delhi-6 Soanamwas not even auditioned for Mausam."

But what happened to the 'nationwide hunt' for the heroine,declared when the film was announced ? Our source says, "Logistically, a nationwide hunt is a nightmare. The idea was eventually dropped." Mausam is all set to go on floors in June-July.
