               Be on hand to praise others. Give that pat on the back at the ecstatic moment of success. don't wait for months before saying casually; "what was that I heard about you ? Didn't you win the Nobel Prize or something ?"

               If you missed the occasion, call them longdistance, send a telegram or flowers, or write a note. Let them know you are glad about their success.

          When someone is engaged in long-term studies or research or practice for sports or musical events, give your encouragement at intervals along the way. speak up. The little kids and ethe big kids both need it.
