      Actress Shika is one happy lass. Galippatta, her first film, released two years ago and now sh has taken the Kollywood industry by storm with her debut flick Kola kolaya Mundhirika, directed by Madhumita. "I had nothing to lose. With a hit film in hand and the will to prove myself, I plunged headlong into the film. I took weekend classes to learn Tamil, The Tamil industry was so encouraging. In Kannada, heroines from other regional film industries are preferred  to local ones. But in Tamil, I got a warm welcome," she beams.

      Shika is glad that her efforts paid off, "Kamal Haasan sir attended our premiere and appreciated our film. And Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who has a weekly review show on a Tamil channel, loved my performance. That's when I felt my talent finally got its due," she smiles.
