CHURNING
50 AND HOW!

      He pens everday for his party's daily newspaper, and with his witticisms and sharp rejoinders on plitics, keeps the media. With increasing involvement in Tamil films. Chief Minister M Karunanidhi is one of the busiest men in Kollywood today.
        The politician, who effectively used his ability to project social themes through his scripts for decades, is back with three projects, all running simultaneously.
        After scripting for Ponner Sankar and Penn Singam, both currently under production, Karunanidhi has taken up one more project. He will soon begin penning the story and screenplay of Ilaignan with lyricist-turned-actor Pa Vijay playing the hero. And, we hear that Suresh Krissna, the director who churned out super hits like Annamalai and Baasha, will be wielding the megaphone.
        This is Krissna's 50th film, and the director has planned to can the song sequences in Italy, Holland and Switzerland. B.L Sanjay, P C Sreeram's assistant, has been roped in as the cinematographer, while Thota Tharrani is in charge of art. Vidyasagar has come on board as the music director.
         Ilaignan revolves around the happenings in the life of a youth in certain period in time. The film will go to the floors on April 28, and the chief minister will formally launch the project. Malayalam producer S Martin will be producing this film, which will also have Meenakshi and khushbu in pivotal roles.
