Study: Soy sauce reduces menopause symptoms
Here's an advice for middle-aged ladiest! Soy sauce could reduce menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, sleeplessness and bone loss, a new study has claimed. Scientists in Japan have carried out the study and found that soy contains a natural compound which can help reduce production of oestrogen, the hormone which contributes to menopausal problems in women. The study in Japan, where soy is consumed with meals regularly, found Asian women experienced milder menopausal symptoms than Americans and Europeans where use of soy is less frequent, the Daily Telegraph reported. Soy has already been found to have anti-cancer properties and can lower cholesterol.

Longevity gene increases memory: In a major breakthrough which may pave the way for new drugs for Alzheimer's disease, scientists claim to have found evidence that a gene, linked to longevity, can also boost memory. A new study has found that an enzyme encased by SIRTI gene can slow the ageing process in rats. And, in humans, the gene is known as Sirtuin1, and the same protein boosts brain power, the 'Nature' journal reported. However, the scientists claimed that the findings of their study are preliminary and yet to be tested on humans.
