IPL CRICKET 2010 FINAL
Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians

CORONATION
CSK Beat MI By 22 Runs To Win IPL-3

Mumbai: How fortunes turn ? In the 2008 IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium, Suresh Raina grassed Yusuf Pathan on 13 at point and it turned the final on its head.
Pathan went on to smash 56 as the Royals chased down 163. Two years later, at the same venue, but against different opponents, it was Raina's turn to receive largesse.
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni had won the toss and chose to bat on a slowish DYP pitch, but smart use of the short ball from the Mumbai Indians pacers which accounted for the wickets of Murali Vijay (26), Matthew Hayden (17) and S Badrinath (14) saw the Super Kings struggle to 92/3 in 14.1 overs.
Raina himself had scored just 13 at a run-a-ball. It forced him to play his favourite slog over cow corner against Zaheer Khan. He miscued it. The ball lobbed high and Abhishek Nayar at point and Dilhara fernando at third man both looked at each other allowing the ball to drop. The moment was gone.
Zaheer himself dropped Raina in the next over at short third man prompting the batsman to go on a hitting spree and score an unbeaten 57 (35 balls, 3x4, 3x6) to allow the Super Kings to post a challenging 168 for 5. The total proved to be 22 runs too many as MI ended up with 146 for 9 and allowed Dhoni to add the IPL to his glittering trophy cabinet.
The Mumbai Indians chase was a stop-star and shambolic affair. Shikhar Dhawan played eight balls before failing for a blob.
