Chennai:Two innings and two wins. Murali Vijay came up with another blitzkrieg and guided Chennai Super Kings to a crucial home victory against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday. Vijay,who scored a match-winning 78 to hand Chennai super Kings register a much-needed win against Bangalore Royal Challengers in Their previous match, tore apart the Royals' bowlers while scoring 127 off 56 balls to help CSK post a 23-run victory over Royals here at the MA Chedambaram stadium. With the win CSK's chances of entering the last four got better.

            Chennai Super Kings' score of 246 for five on Saturday is the highest team total n IPLbettering their own 240 for five against Punjab in 2008. Vihay's 127 is the second highest individual score in IPL after Kolkata Knight Riders' Brendon McCullum (158) and the Chennai boy became the only third Indian to score a century after Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan in this edition.

        After such a powerful batting display, the CSK fans might have expected to win hands down but two Royals' batsmen-Shane Watson (60 off 25 balls) and Naman Ojha (94 not out off 55 balls) -made life difficult for the home bowlers.

           It was a Herculean task for the Royals for sure but they were not ready to give it up without giving a tough fight. Watson and Ojha showed great character and raised bright hopes for Shane Warne's boys but their effort was enough to overcome such an unassailable target.Doug Bollinger (4-0-15-2), who made his CSK debut on Saturday, was the pick of the bowers and kept the Royals batsmen under continuos pressure from the beginning.

           the way Vijay hammered the likes of Shane Warne it seemed as if he was playing in the local league. He made the Royals bowlers look pedestrians and Warne had no clue how to stop Vijay's onslaught till end of his innings.

          Vijay is not a slogger and one of the cleanest hitters of the ball. The way the local hero sent a Tait Delivery out of the huge Chepauk stadium was incredible.

         South African allrounder Albie Morkel, who was promoted to No 4 provided adequate support to Vijay in the middle overs. Morkel (62, 43b, 3x4, 5x6) came good for the first time in the ongoing IPL and added 152 runs for the third wicket with Vijay, the biggest for the third wicket in IPL and the second highest for any wicket.

           Earlier, Matthew Hayden (43) and Vijay put on 62 runs in 5.5 overs for the first wicket before the Aussie misjudged an incoming ball from Srikanth Wagh and offered a simple catch to Watson at mid-off. Uresh Raina (13) followed Hayden soon.

Mumbai Register 63-Run Win Against Deccan Chargers To Stay On Top Of The IPL Table

Mumbai:An allround effort by Team Mumbai was enough to see off Deccan Chargers by 63 runs on Saturday. After Ambati Rayudu and Saurabh Tiwary's heroics with the bat, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh bowled brilliantly to keep Mumbai help Mumbai on top of the IPL table. Set to score 179 for a win, Deccan Chargers were dismissed for 115 all out in 18.2 overs as Zaheer Khan took 2 for 10 and Harbhajan Singh 2 for 16. Earlier, Ambati Rayudu struck an unbeaten 29-ball 55 to help Mumbai Indians recover from a mini collapse and post a challenging 178 for five.

               Rayudu, who joined another youngster Saurabh Tiwary when the hosts had lost three wickets in a heap to be at 62 for three after nine overs, cracked two sixes and sex fours during his breezy innings.

         Tiwary also made 44 off 35 balls with three sixes and one four, and added 65 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership with Rayudu. Rayudu and Kieron Pollard (21) then added a quick 51 in less than five overs for the sixth-wicket combo to help MI end on a high note.

       Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha picked up three wickets for 26 runs but Deccan, after looking like restricting high-flying hosts for a modest total conceded a lot of runs to the end. The visitors gave away 34 runs in the last two overs off Ryan Harris and Jaskaran Singh.

         Their expensive overs spoil Ojha's effort who picked up opener Shikhar Dhawan (14) and Dwayne Bravo (2) in sucessive overs and then added Tiwary to his tally.

       Rahul Sharma also chipped in with the prized wicket of captain Sachin Tendulkar (35). The home team batsmen struggled on a sluggish wicket that offered turn to the spinners.

        Mumbai were given a good start by the right-left combination of Tendulkar and Dhawan who put on 53 runs before three wickets fell in quick succession.

         Deccan started bowling with Rohit Sharma after Tendulkar won the toss and opted to bat first.

        But the off-spinner could not control the new ball and started with two wides before Tendulkar on-drove him with a lofted shot for a four. Rohit conceded 12 runs in the first over.

        But Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist soon stumped Dhawan off Ojha to give the hosts first blow and in the next over Sharma trapped in-form Tendulkar plumb. He made 35 off 25 balls with the help of five fours. The hosts were rocked further when Ojha made a ball turn that went past the bat of West Indian Bravo to reduce them to 62 for three from 53 for no loss in 18 balls.

The 23-year-old actress came here in December to shoot the documentary and has urged people to watch it when it airs. Writing on her web page, Lindsay said, "My documentary is coming out soon. It's about child-trafficking in Indi9a and I'd like to encourage everyone to watch it! It's a massive world issue, and it happens every day. I just want people to recognise the more important things in the world, rather than gossip."

           The Mean Girls actress previously claimed to have saved many lives in just one day while she was making the documentary last year. She said, "Over 40 children saved so far... Within one day's work. This is what life is about... Doing this makes life worth living! Trafficking is a big issue here, I'm doing what I can, and will contijue to do so as long as I can."
