IPL CRICKET 2010 - Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings

 IPL CRICKET 2010
Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings

MAC makes it possible
CSK Beat To Win 3rd Match In A Row At Chepauk

Chennai: Is it champions' luck? No one at Chepauk co0uld believe till 10.30pm that Chennai Super Kings could win the match. But Sachin Tendulkar, all cramped up and dehydrated, hopped out during the stragety break and in another 15 minutes, the Yellow Submarine was zooming in.
The 24-run win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (MAC) on Tuesday has really opened the door for CSK and two wins of the last four may just do it or Dhoni's boys.
I CSK couldn't make much of an impression on Tendulkar, the heat did and the Little Master, despite his best efforts, just couldn't carry on after the strategy break.
And the valiant CSK brigade didn't miss the opportunity. They knew run-scoring wasn't all that easy on the track where the ball was just stopping a bit.The canny MS Dhoni employed Bravo and Kieron Pollard faltered.
The CSK fielding also went to a different level altogether with incredible catches being snapped up and brilliant run-outs exeuteed. Tendulkar (45 of 35 balls) tried one last time after seven wickets had fallen, but things had reallygone out o hand by then.
Harbhajan singh did hit a couple o huge sixes off Dkoug Bollinger in the 18th over to up the tempo, but the asking-rate was just a little too steep.
CSK, though, faltered while batting after getting o to a decent start. Pollard (2-27) worked up a lively pace and removed Dhoni and Mattew Hayden off xuccessive balls which put the brakes on CSK as they struggled to 165. Pollard bounced one to Dhoni in the 14th over and the skipper couldn't control the attempted hook shot, ofering a simple catch.
It was all down to Hayden after that, but the Mongoose man doesn't clear the long-on boundary the very next ball, only to give a catch to R. Sathish, which stunned the packed Chepauk
Tendulkar deserves credit for the way he handled his bowlers right through the innings. While in the beginning, he bowled Harbhajan Singh (1-23) three on the trot, no other bowler was given more than one over.
That didn't allow the CSK top order to get settled and when Bhaji removed a dangerous looking M. Vijay, it was evident that things won't be easy for them.
Mumbai Indians were operating without Zaheer Khan, but the likes of Ryan McLaren, Pollard and Lasith Malinga were always on the spot, making it difficult for CSK, as they tried to break free.
The most disappointing part for the home team was when Michael Hussey and S. Badrinath struggled to get bat to ball in the last few overs. But Badri did make up a bit with two outrageous reverse Dil-scoops off McLaren in the last over, which did make an impact in the end.

IPL CRICKET 2010
Rajasthan royals Vs Deccan Chargers

PR IN SHANGRILA
Warne Magic Foils Valieant Rohit Effort

Nagpur:The Shane Warne magic was back on a big stage as Rajasthan royals won a crucial match against Deccan Chargers by two runs on Monday. Warne took four wickets for 21 runs as Deccan Chargers, chasing 160 for a win. lost the last five wickets for 20 runs, to be bowled out for 157 in 19.5 overs. Rohit Sharma., who made 73 off 44 balls, was the last man to be dismissed.
Earlier, Deccan captain Adam Gilchrist made five changes to the team, rotated his bowlers at quite a frantic frequency, taking almost each one of them off after just an over. Gilchrist's ply worked to an extent as they bundled out Rajasthan Royals for just 159 in 19.5 overs.
But all the gambles by Gilchrist came undone as Warne, the old magician, decided to take the centre stage and gatecrash Deccan Charger s' party. After going largely unnoticed so far in the IPL Shane Warne finally struck just when his team needed most. And what a strike it was. Warne bowled 13 dot balls conceding just one four and a six in his four overs as he derailed the Deccan run chase with four over bowled by Siddharth Trivede proved too much for Deccan as they fell short by two runs.
When Warne brought himself in the attack Chargers needed 59 runs from 48 balls. An asking rate of just above 7 runs per over. But none of the batsmen, barring Rohit Sharma, could cope with the pressure put up by Warne and Deccan Chargers were bowled out for 157.
Deccan Chargers, after being well placed at 86 for 2. Thanks to early impetus provided by Gilchrist after 10 overs lost their way. With 74 runs needed from the last 10 overs Deccan were favourites to win the match. But the batsmen failed to rise to the occasion.
Deccan Chargers' scoring rater dipped after Gilchrist's departure. The next two overs yielded just nine runs. Aditya Dole, making his debut for Rajasthan Royals, had the last laugh in his battle with the rival captain. After being hit by the former Aussie wicketkeeper for two sixes and a four in three balls, the right-hand bowler responded with the prize wicket of Gilchrist.
